I'm just watching his videos on Youtube and he seems (sorry) WOKE as fuck all of a sudden. WTF happened to him?!

OP posts:
ooooohbetty · 18/03/2020 21:19

He's been like that for ages though. Speaks a lot of sense sometimes. Still very handsome

ssd · 18/03/2020 21:20

I know I'm an old fart but what's woke?

user1473878824 · 18/03/2020 21:21

@ooooohbetty oh no no no no

FATEdestiny · 18/03/2020 21:22

What does WOKE mean?

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 18/03/2020 21:24

My son keeps explaining woke to me, still don't understand it 😕

TheQueef · 18/03/2020 21:24

Right on.
For us of a certain vintage.
Too cool for school.

goodthanks · 18/03/2020 21:25

@ooooohbetty oh yes yes yes yes

ABetterOblivion · 18/03/2020 21:25

He’s been like that for years!

1Morewineplease · 18/03/2020 21:26

I’ve asked my twenty something children about what woke means, even asked on MN but I still don’t understand.

limpbizkit · 18/03/2020 21:26

It's because he's a recovered alcoholic and addict. He lives a 12 step spiritual programme. It's great stuff really Smile

Neverender · 18/03/2020 21:26

He got married and had a baby and now he's happieeeeee! Good for him!

Tink2007 · 18/03/2020 21:27

I’m 34 - WTAF does woke mean in that context?

YangShanPo · 18/03/2020 21:27

He's got an amazing beard now. I quite like his self help advice though.

Bloomburger · 18/03/2020 21:27

I think it's taking ZpC to the Nth degree.

RB is a cunt.

Happy to be a misogynist twat till he realises he's nearly tanked his career doing it then did a swift about turn.

WingBingo · 18/03/2020 21:28

Woke means super aware and super sensitive to all the issues of people in society.

Or that’s my interpretation.

Goawayquickly · 18/03/2020 21:29

I really like his videos and find him strangely soothing to listen to.

speakout · 18/03/2020 21:29

Not woke, just trying to re-brand as some guru/svengali type.

Dumb as shite.

Hepzibar · 18/03/2020 21:29

He's clean and sober and sharing his experience, strength and hope with others. He has a profile that exposes him to wider society, who can identify with him.

He is doing a fabulous job

bemoreeverything · 18/03/2020 21:31

I'm just watching his videos on Youtube and he seems (sorry) WOKE as fuck all of a sudden. WTF happened to him?!

Does this mean you like him now or not? I can't work out if it's a good thing.

AnotherMurkyDay · 18/03/2020 21:31

@WingBingo

Kind of but it's normally said in the same derogatory way as "snowflake" so "woke" means oh so right on and aware of all the feelings and stuff, but also not terribly self aware and a bit of a PITA with it. I used "clued up" for people who know their shit and "woke" for people who talk the talk and pretend to know their shit but are actually just pretentious wankers.

So yes RB is woke as F

babychange12 · 18/03/2020 21:32

I quite like him now, he has a good way with words

MsPepperPotts · 18/03/2020 21:33

Did like like this guy's behaviour over the years then all of sudden he's changed?....
Not buying his new found image one bit.

Mumdiva99 · 18/03/2020 21:33

I think he's had his useful moments - especially when he tried to be political. But this last video I thought he looked like a middle aged dad. And was a little shocked. Then gave my head a wobble as that's exactly what he is now. He's lost the edgie-ness...(although looks content and happy, he's filled out a bit which suits him.) ....but carry in trying to spread his love. He's not hurting anyone.

CSIblonde · 18/03/2020 21:33

He's always been like that, (remember some doc on him & the homeless & then addiction ages ago). He's just grown a beard & is spreading his message via You Tube.

limpbizkit · 18/03/2020 21:33

I think it's fab that he's a grateful sober addict carrying out his step 12Smile
