I'm just watching his videos on Youtube and he seems (sorry) WOKE as fuck all of a sudden. WTF happened to him?!

I really like his videos and find him strangely soothing to listen to.

Me too. Recently went through a down patch and his videos really helped me.

He's amazing. Typical of the mumsnetter majority to dismiss someone like him.

I watched his latest thing on You Tube and kinda tuned into him man.

He has always been like this on some level, even when we was the full on celeb doing films and marrying katy Perry he was very much into spirituality.
He’s been clean a long time now and big promoter of the 12 step programme.

I don’t understand why we can’t allow people to change - he openly admits his life was fuelled by the need to be loved, adored, celebrated etc. He wanted to change and found a path to do that. And probably worked - and continues to work, really hard at it.

He might not be for everyone but those calling him stupid or dumb - he is extremely intelligent, well read, informed and educated. He is as far from dumb as you can get

Saw him live a couple of years ago and it was hilarious. Genuine and raw but totally hilarious

I think I agree, but.... I think the difference is, Russel Brand realises he is a pretentious twat. I like the bloke, he's always been honest about his MH struggles, even before it started being OK to do that. To me he comes across as very 'real', and that will always make people marmite.
