Which do you prefer? Which is better? For cooking, cost, environment?
Previously I've always had electric, DH gas. When we moved our house came with a rangemaster which had electric oven but gas hob.... it's about to give up so looking at new ones. I'd like to go all electric but DH isn't sure!
Thanks

My husband is a chef and has used induction at work for years. It was him who really wanted it for the house too

I think gas was always thought to be better in the old days when you had those spiral electric rings but electric these days is just as good as gas and more practical (easier to clean, flatter surface so no wobbly pans, no risk of gas leak). I had the option to have either in my house and went electric. I don’t actually have induction but what I have is more than good enough. I do consider myself a reasonably decent cook and it’s good enough for me.

Gas 100%. We’ve an electric oven and gas cooker so I’ve the best of both worlds.

If you do wok a lot and still want induction, then this is an option: appliancist.com/cooking/cooktops/boretti-induction-cooktop-bikw-75.html
Although a flat-bottom wok of course works as well.

Gas. Loathe electric hobs. If the leccy fails i can boil water for a cuppa.
