Hanging around outside local restaurant and off licence. Opposite a couple of pubs. They look intimidating. Hoodies up. Drinking cans. They look about 15 so could be younger or older. Smoking. We were worried walking past them to get to our restaurant booking. Thought they might just be waiting for a taxi or friend though so ignored it. Even more worried walking back past them as they were still there when we came out. They didn't approach us or do anything to us. This was a dispersal zone and may well still be. I'm worried they might be waiting for somebody specific. AIBU to ignore it. They're more likely harmless and trying to look tough.

Is this a real post?

DNR · 14/02/2020 21:36

YABU report. YANBU ignore - they're probably younger kids trying to look tough

YANBU to ignore them. Yes they might be waiting for someone or something, or they might just be hanging around there socialising in a relatively harmless fashion. What else would you do? I wouldn’t be reporting them if that’s what you’re suggesting.

MitziK · 14/02/2020 21:38

Well, they obviously weren't waiting for you.

Get over yourself.

?

Fuckitwhynot · 14/02/2020 21:39

So in essence nothing happened and also nothing happened.

Sparklesocks · 14/02/2020 21:40

What would you report? 3 kids (not a huge gang) being outside who didn’t talk or address you in any way?

Crunchymum · 14/02/2020 21:41

Who is the "we" you mention???

TonytheDog · 14/02/2020 21:43

So really you could have written:
Today I went to a restaurant, then I came home from the restaurant.

TrainspottingWelsh · 14/02/2020 21:45

'Log' it with someone or something.

Honeybee85 · 14/02/2020 21:45

Are you serious?

You’re making a lot of assumptions here purely based on looks and your own fears.
They haven’t done anything wrong to you, so what is the issue here?

Thedogscollar · 14/02/2020 21:45

I cant see the problem. Nothing happened it's all in your imagination.

strawberry2017 · 14/02/2020 21:48

Talk about judging a book by its cover.

SidekickSally · 14/02/2020 21:51

So in essence nothing happened and also nothing happened

😂

TrixieTheWhore · 14/02/2020 21:51

Did they look forrin too?

DNR · 14/02/2020 21:52

OK. Glad we didn't say anything then.

Stressheadme123 · 14/02/2020 21:53

This is terrifying.

You ok hun?

BirdieFriendBadge · 14/02/2020 21:54

Oh. No. Not the youths!

RhitaGawr · 14/02/2020 21:55

😱

ilovesooty · 14/02/2020 21:56

So they haven't actually approached you. They're probably not remotely interested in you and they haven't done anything. What's the problem?

TonytheDog · 14/02/2020 21:57

OK. Glad we didn't say anything then.

What on earth could you have said?
I know some teenagers, especially when there a a few together, can be into
I dating but ... they didn't do anything.

DNR · 14/02/2020 21:58

Trixie The Whore they look the same nationality as me.

OP posts:
Instatwat · 14/02/2020 21:59

What would you have said, and to whom?

You’re not seriously intimating that you’d have called the police to report some children standing around doing nothing, are you?

PawPawNoodle · 14/02/2020 22:01

'Yes 999 I have an emergency I've just seen three people standing outside in a public place'
