Hanging around outside local restaurant and off licence. Opposite a couple of pubs. They look intimidating. Hoodies up. Drinking cans. They look about 15 so could be younger or older. Smoking. We were worried walking past them to get to our restaurant booking. Thought they might just be waiting for a taxi or friend though so ignored it. Even more worried walking back past them as they were still there when we came out. They didn't approach us or do anything to us. This was a dispersal zone and may well still be. I'm worried they might be waiting for somebody specific. AIBU to ignore it. They're more likely harmless and trying to look tough.

I'm glad your ok. That sounds scary. We have lots of youths around here to. They don't all have hoodies like you describe, but they do hang around in groups of 3 or 4. Talking, looking around...

Have you been drinking wine per chance?

Have you considered counselling?

I would have been slightly intimidated myself, but they were harmless and didn't bother you in any way.
As an older teenager, we use to roam the streets in a gang of around 10-15. We would never have dreamed of causing any trouble, we were just going from A-B, but we were loud and probably intimidating to some.

yes, young lads with hoods up....its cold, they prob have acne (ds keeps hood up for this reason)

We once got stopped by the police for the crime of walking home from the pub. I wonder now if someone called them because a bunch of 17-20 year olds were noisy walking through their nice area at 10:30ish....

Are teenagers not allowed to stand in groups any more? Are pairs ok or do they need to always be alone?
