Hanging around outside local restaurant and off licence. Opposite a couple of pubs. They look intimidating. Hoodies up. Drinking cans. They look about 15 so could be younger or older. Smoking. We were worried walking past them to get to our restaurant booking. Thought they might just be waiting for a taxi or friend though so ignored it. Even more worried walking back past them as they were still there when we came out. They didn't approach us or do anything to us. This was a dispersal zone and may well still be. I'm worried they might be waiting for somebody specific. AIBU to ignore it. They're more likely harmless and trying to look tough.

It was three youths. Hardly the Sharks & the Jets

I've now got a mental image of someone dialling 999 in fear and panic to report a gang of youths clicking their fingers rythmically before breaking into a well rehearsed song and dance routine.

I came out of Tesco last night walked past a gang of 6 youths & one of them said to his mate regarding me "go & take that girls bag", basically I'm a woman not a girl but it was dark so they couldn't tell my age, I then walked home extremely fast, luckily wasn't followed.
I think they decided against mugging me probably because I wasn't an easy target - wearing my handbag crossbody & now walking too quickly... but i was so anxious thinking what the fuck do I do if they do try to mug me?

I'm not usually worried by gangs of lads as they're more into bothering other lads.
However this incident reminded me to be careful.
Im determined it won't put me off walking across to Tesco on my own however.

I won't be calling 101 as whats the point.
They were lads in sportswear & it was too dark to see their faces properly. There were several other similar gangs near that Tesco.
They could have been joking about taking my bag or could have been serious.

I can't believe you actually had to pass some children, who were just stood there...

Must have been seriously terrifying.

I'd suggest not going out anymore, just in case something else happens.
