To ask what the secret is behind the Maltesers box?

Just that really: what is the box design all about? Why is there the circular hole? What are the perforated quarter circles for? Is it all some advanced alien technology or am I just too dense to understand a basic cardboard box?

I was just checking out my watched threads and rediscovered this thread. Which reminded me that following a PP suggestion I had put some bags of maltesers in the freezer and one of them is still there!

@Alcalavicci. Maybe THAT'S what I did...I have no idea...my XL fingertips have a mind of their own ....never can tell what new is going to turn up because of them..but I've been wanting to find out how to bookmark! So good on them.

Look what I found at my local village sweeties shop! These magical Maltesers have been right here in Laguna this whole time. I don't usually patronize this shop as the prices are touristy, but I was desperate. I browsed the aisles of 9 hundred million sweeties and way back in a dusty corner I spotted a red Maltesers packet that I've become familiar with from MN! Almost fainted with delight and relief, but was able to grab ahold of myself so as not to alert any greedy customers who might just be faster than me and hog them all before I could get to them. I casually walked up to the display and gave a look around and then ever so gently and lovingly picked up the packet (checking the expiry date, of course) and mosied over to the till, paid, and practically ran to the safety of my auto just in case someone might get a whiff of them if I opened them whilst I was on the street. I tried all the different ways to enjoy them as described by Maltesers-loving MNETTERS..i.e. stuffing 15 in your mouth at once, popping 3 in at once and allowing the yummy outside to slowly melt and then crunching down on the honeycomb center, licking off the chocolate first, having them fed to you by a hunky oiled bare chested man (🤣, @Poptasmagorical-style), etc. I found the best for me was to pop them in one at a time and immediately crunch down( I've always been impatient that way).
I will still take my Maltesers-Horlicks trip to London as it is already booked, plus I promised to stimulate the post bretix UK economy, so there's that.
I've also included a photo of the packaging of one of my all time favourite treats, Moon Pies ( note packaging for both malt. and moon pie are empty...told you I was an impatient one)
Google them...you may just have to make a quick run to the US to try one...I think it says they have been making them for over a century, so you know they must be good!

Guess where I found the Moon Pies! Yep, good ole Dollartree and they are the mini sized ones with only 110 calories each. Almost makes up for the chili debacle

And you were also just IMAGINING that you were swimming in Maltesers? Well I am very disappointed! I was aspiring to be your counterpart here in the US marketing campaign. I had it all planned out.... Packets of Maltesers with my photo on them, the one off US version maltesers bowl, and me being encased in melted chocolate during the photo shoot with the gorgeous malteser man...When reading your description of your amazing Maltesers adventure , I could just close my eyes and imagine having the same good fortune,... so Well done..It was very fun while it lasted 🤣 But probably for the best...as @AlCalavicci said, all those Maltesers and Horlicks powder would have me outgrowing my summer dress and that mustn't happen. I just found out my high school classmates are having a reunion on Oct. so I want to be svelte for that... Now, what is this Double Decker that you are reveling on about and has caused you to cheat on your beloved? Never heard of a Double Decker....Boy, the UK has all the good stuff....we're stuck with Hersey Bars🤢

Oh yes, Moonpies (but no penny whistles, sadly) aplenty at my local Dollar Store, and also a confection called 'Mrs Freshley's' Oatmeal Creme Pies, which DS and DD4 swear are far superior to the regular Oatmeal Creme Pies.

You are just a fountain of info on where to buy affordable tasty treats ...can't wait to try Mrs.Freshleys OCPs...I love the originals, but I'm up for trying Mrs.Freshleys if your DD4 and DS find them superior...how blessed you are to have 5DC! Am I correct on the number...4DDs and 1DS or is DD 4 your 4th child? Either way, you are teaching them the value of a dollar by shopping at 💲🌳 Good on you, @math

@Jojo2wyatr no no, you misunderstood me... uhm, I think I was posting on the wrong thread or something... obviously it's all true! And don't you worry about not fitting into your dress - maltesers dresses are designed for those rare models who get to work with the brand (that's me and you).

So keep the Double Deckers a secret but definitely locate some. They are magic.

OK. Where. The. Fuck. have all the Maltesers gone? There are none in Sainsbury's at all unless you want funsize or the poxy bars. I had to buy the funsize ones and hope they make a full bag when tipped into a bowl. I blame you lot. Come on, give them back!

@Poptasmagorical 's unexpected post on MN which therefore totally skewed their latest market share analysis causing a worldwilde shortage of maltesers. We MUST demand that they bestow a medal or title on @Poptasmagorical right away for the enormous effort put forth to save the UKs post Brexit economy.
All those shortsighted analysts are being made redundant, but I hear there are many positions open for malteser feeders...job describe as such: making sure devoted maltesers customers are never without a supply of maltesers that the feeders can pop into said customer's mouth 24/7/365....also the analysts are never allowed to even take a deep breath of the aroma much less eat a maltesers ever again

Don't tell me ya'll don't have Moon Pies! They are 2 delectable biscuits with marshmallow fluff squished in between and then dipped in a yummy chocolate, banana flavoured, or vanilla flavoured coating....totally the pure definition of "junk food"...think Jaffa cakes only 4 million times better!
Maybe I should bring over a huge supply on my London run to get authentic horlicks powder and Maltesers...
I could set up a little stand outside of Buckingham Palace and probably make enough £££ to fund my trip...I'm sure no one in authority will bother throwing me in prison once they taste them....also as @mathanxiety said, they can be purchased at Dollartree ( like pound city) 6 for $1.

And! I just looked on the package...no corn syrup, HFCs not preservatives...maybe no so hunky after all!
