I am waiting with interest to find out what happens next, following on from this afternoon's talks at Sandringham.

Poor old Queen. She can't have finished the leftover turkey yet and here she is, embroiled in another crisis.

On a lighter note, an MM supporter has shared a letter she wrote to him. It’s headed with a capital M with a crown sat atop it Grin

I believe I started that trend when I was 11. I had just perfected writing my initials in bubble writing and decided to top it with a crown. Her people can try prove me wrong but we both know I started it.

The trouble is if Harry had been honest with Meghan in the first place, she wouldn’t have married him probably. He most likely feels quite guilty about the situation she’s in as a result. Of course he has to prioritise his wife, but she’s chucked in the towel when they’ve only been married a year and a half.
I think it’s unspeakably tacky for her to be contacting US talk shows to air their dirty laundry. However I suspect she wants to get her own back on the system now and it will be all holds barred. Never mind if she humiliates Harry and his family. The importance of family loyalty is not something she has as a priority.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/01/2020 15:11

I think today will be about laying down rules and restrictions on what they can do to earn their own money

As suggested I've no doubt they'll try, but does anyone seriously imagine that Meghan will allow herself to be reined in by anyone now she's got the title, the royal child, a fair whack of their inside story and doubtless many offers lined up?

astralweaks · 13/01/2020 15:11

Mike Tindall also isn't a working royal and I doubt he posted on Instagram reminding others to watch their alcohol intake directly before going out and getting pissed.

This made me laugh aloud! Good analogy.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 15:12

Of course you started it, Fraggot. Of course you did.

But neither is it a priority for the RF 🤣

fallen121 · 13/01/2020 15:13

@Alsohuman not so much that them denying it quickly but the fact that they came out and made a statement. Usually they remain diplomatically silent.

I feel by implication that you are trying to categorise me as a "shit stirrer" but that may not have been your intention. That certainly was not what I was trying to achieve by posting that, just that it was my own personal opinion which you are entitled not to agree with.

But how is my having the opinion that quick denial suggests that it might be true any different to what has gone before in this discussion. There were those on this thread who mentioned this morning about William supposedly having that affair with the "Chumley" woman and people saying that William getting his lawyer to try and suppress rumours about it suggested that there might have been something in the rumours. I don't recollect you accusing those posters of "rum logic" and "shit stirring". Yet it's the same "no smoke without a fire" logic operating.

I see Paul Burrell has finally commented. Amazed he managed to keep out of it for so long.

He thinks Princess Diana would have approved of Harry and Meghan wanting to split their time between the US and UK and that it was exactly what she u tended to do too. She apparently intended to buy a house in Malibu and left the plans to do so on the floor at home when she went on her Mediterranean cruise (with Dodi Al Fayed).

He said Meghan is like Diana too and followed it up by saying "Diana had the same traits of cutting people off" [as Meghan].

IrmaFayLear · 13/01/2020 15:14

Yes, the bullying accusations were by Tom Bradby, who is in the pay of Harry and Meghan. I think they (or rather their PR team/advisers) went too far there and that was why there was a swift denial.

The trouble is that whatever conditions are placed on H&M's "stepping back" they won't have to abide by them. I was thinking a confidentiality agreement in return for their demands, but that's basically giving in to blackmail and the demands might increase. Also if it gets out that the UK taxpayer is picking up most of the bill (in spite of what Justin Trudeau has generously offered on behalf of Canadian taxpayers) then people will be angry, and think the monarchy weak.

I would seriously doubt it.

She holds some very high cards indeed. The RF neds to tread very carefully, as she does not seem to have any respect for the monarchy at all.

Tom Bradby will lose a lot of professional credibility if he continues commentating on this situation, with his implied insider track. Surely he's also cutting off his links to William.

fallen121 · 13/01/2020 15:16

@SunsetBoulevard3 - I did not pick up on this when reading so if you have any links where I can read further this would be aprpeciated.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 15:17

Interesting if they take Trudeau up on his offer.

A man who is recorded as “blacking up” on more than one occasion.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 15:18

WTF?

How very convenient for Paul Burrell that Princess Diana did this.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2020 15:19

Diana has done lots of things that are convenient for Paul Burrell - but sadly isn't around to correct his memory! Grin

brassbrass · 13/01/2020 15:19

Will we ever know where the money goes and on whom? Remember the hoohah over the Kents paying nominal rent at Kensington palace? Liz was subsidising it all. How would we ever know if it was coming out of her purse or ours? If she pays out of her purse surely she just tops herself up with our contributions elsewhere.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 15:21

Oh I dunno ajandjjmum. Doesn't Paul Burrell believe in the spirit world, and is contacted by Princess Diana every so often, for corroborative purposes, so to speak?

Xmas Hmm

Hitherto it was such a boring subject I can't imagine anyone was too interested. Now, however, there is a sudden interest in the royal finances and I expect any under-the-counter payments to Harry (and others who have blotted their copybook recently...) will be robustly investigated.

brassbrass · 13/01/2020 15:22

She holds some very high cards indeed.

Having watched the crown I really hope someone finally sticks it to them. They are hypocrites and parasites the lot of them.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 15:22

Sorry. That was supposed to be Grin

SunsetBoulevard3 · 13/01/2020 15:23

That’s just one of the many mentions about Meghans PR team being in touch with US chat shows

Iamdobby63 · 13/01/2020 15:23

@brassbrass I haven’t seen that anywhere, where did you read it? It appears that all members of the royal family were not informed prior to the statement being released.
