Do you mean the story that she might have been in jail? No evidence for that. I read that she’s been an air hostess but it’s very odd that no one knows..who would leave their only daughter to be brought up by her father for years and years? It’s strange.
I think Harry has outlived his usefulness to Meghan now and she’ll quickly tire of him and move into someone who can provide more leverage for her.

Granted the UK has a double taxation treaty with Canada which might benefit Harry (he'd have to get a job first obviously). But I suspect Meghan has her eye on a very large slice of the potential income pie. And it was Meghan I was really thinking of. Non charitable voiceovers. Tell-all interviews on Oprah. Sussex Duchess perfume.

Somebody mentioned Meghan has Canadian residency due to having lived for 7 years in Toronto during her stint on Suits. However, I believe she has never renounced her US citizenship.

Although a similar US Canada tax treaty also exists, I believe there is something called "Article 29" which is to do with savings. If your savings are above a certain level (and Meghan has a personal fortune of around $5m) the US can tax its citizens as if the rest of the treaty didn’t exist, so in effect the doesn’t this doesn't prevent US expats living in Canada from having to file US taxes AS WELL. So yeah. They might only pay either Canadian or British taxes, depending on where they spent most of their time, but the US IRS would also want a slice of the pie based on Meghan being a US citizen. And she wouldn't even have to live there or earn money there because the IRS can tax you regardless of where you are or where you earnt the money. Also many of Meghan's little schemes will no doubt involve deals brokered in the US you can bet your life on that.

Think Boris Johnson might have fallen foul of the US tax laws despite having lived in the UK for years. Didn't he renounce US citizenship for this very reason in 2016?

If he has a degenerative brain disease I can imagine him residing in the "granny flat" is probably best for him. Maybe he gets confused in the larger house. I mean I know that's pure speculation but people have granny flats for a reason.

@fallen but wouldn't she be paying that tax now anyway? She was resident in the UK full time (till yesterday anyway 🤣) so would the IRS not have asked for tax whilst she was in the UK?

I think The Queen has played a blinder.. the truth seems to be that Meghan has stamped her perfectly shod foot, told PH “it’s me or your family” and effectively help him to ransom. HMQ who has lived a fair few years wants to give him a way back in when the inevitable divorce happens. I don’t believe PH wants to leave the UK, he fought for his country and his Queen, but he can’t bear to lose Meghan and Archie, so what choice does he have. Foof struck indeed ...

Over the next weeks and months he will become resentful and unhappy, the marriage will not improve but there is a way out for him. HMQ has behaved as a grandmother and left him a way back.

Maybe as a very elderly, frail person he doesn't want to have to walk miles to a bathroom or climb stairs to his rooms. Maybe he just wants and needs everything on a smaller scale.

A lot of people in America go bankrupt due to medical bills, even the insured. That could explain it. Or they could just be crappy business people.

In response to a PP, I have quite a few American friends. Without exception those I have spoken to are on Team Meghan so to speak. I have not discussed with all of them though.
