I am waiting with interest to find out what happens next, following on from this afternoon's talks at Sandringham.

Poor old Queen. She can't have finished the leftover turkey yet and here she is, embroiled in another crisis.

Good lord @SeperatedSwans that’s horrific. Glad to see he’s an ex.

Yes @Myimaginarycathasfleas you’re right, the chap does seem to introduce the people which is likely why PH shuts up. It’s still the crossing over in front of him and prompting the introductions that’s the shocking bit though.

CornforthWhite · 13/01/2020 17:00

That video is edited. I agree with everything that people say and they do appear extremely petulant, but I do think some dark forces are at play when you see such a suspicious video and also the editing of their Christmas photo specifically on Meghan’s face. The original photo looked nothing like the one used by the tabloids.

diddl · 13/01/2020 17:01

I think she introduces herself as the guy on the left then also (to me) looks at a loss as to what to do.

fallen121 · 13/01/2020 17:03

Omigod that video. Harry doesn't know what to do.

@Fraggot you have just answered the question my daughter has been asking all month by posting that link.

She's basically saying, "Why doesn't Harry smile anymore?". With a pushy self centred wife like that, I can see why.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 17:06

@astralweaks

I agree, it was mean - although the press must have a reason for disliking her I think (not all racist at least).

Whether she is high handed/difficult with them or the are pissed off that H&M refuse to play ball, I dunno but they could have done a bit of give abs take like W&C ..

Statement from the Queen on the news. Everyone supports and complex matters still to be worked out.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/01/2020 17:08

Agree with packing and OVienna . This is an action so selfish, destructive and out of touch that it makes their smug website even more ridiculous.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 17:09

Queen agrees "period of transition" in which Harry and Meghan will spend time in Canada and UK - statement

So like PPs said - nothing.

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2020 17:09

That statement was stark! The way it's shown on tv ; like something out the 1940s.

cheezy · 13/01/2020 17:09

Oh big deal about that video. You lot are seeing what you want to!!!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/01/2020 17:10

Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.
My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.
Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.
It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.
These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.

There you go then.

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 17:10

So really, the same outcome as if they’d have done it properly (and privately) in the first place.

There was no need for them to wailing to the press about the whole thing and creating a massive drama.

LaMarschallin · 13/01/2020 17:10

That video is edited

Probably true, especially with the cutaway to a closeup of Meghan's face.
It's a shame that in the closeup she looked a bit fed up and then seemed to cut across Harry; she may well have been making with the adoring gaze just before then.*

It's more Harry's reaction of looking - to me, anyway - awkward and a bit pissed off while he seems to be left on the sidelines.
I know people keep saying he's not academic but his whole upbringing should have rendered him very good socially and able to have continued a conversation with at least one of those people.

Maybe he was just admiring his wife charming those people.

*I've been trying to think what that reminds me of and it's Cherie Blair on the doorstep of No10 in 1997 (right date?).
People said she was overdoing it a bit too.

ManonBlackbeak · 13/01/2020 17:11

That statement was stark! The way it's shown on tv ; like something out the 1940s.

Much like the royal family themselves then.

astralweaks · 13/01/2020 17:12

@WendyMoiraAngelaDarling

Good grief. Imagine someone correcting someone who knew that. Time to bow out

A previous poster, not YOU, referred to the Home Secretary as HE in capitals. The poster using HE was correcting a poster who referred to her as she. You've got the wrong end of the stick so yes...byeeeeee!" 👋

Confused Yes I know. I am aware of who said what. Clearly you are not.

They don't want to be reliant on public funds ( because opening things in Hull is really dull) but they want the Canadians to pay for some of our security and dad might still pay for things for us. Yay!

astralweaks · 13/01/2020 17:14

I was referring to that person who correctly Simone else when the someone else had used the right gender.

Pfft on second thoughts forget it.

annielouise · 13/01/2020 17:14

The statement is to try and put a lid on public speculation as it's so damaging.

It seems like a massively lawyer-y statment to me, leaving many question

May I ask why people are so downright rude about places like Hull? Philip Larkin worked there so that makes it good enough for me.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2020 17:17

Could have been written before the meeting. Would have respected them more if they'd said that don't want to rely on public nor RF funding, but they're not going to turn that gift horse away, are they!!
