...Scene One?

I think we probably do need a third thread.

@SeperatedSwans - OMG! Kate’s plan all along! She’s just biding her time. Very successfully I might add!

NumbersStation · 12/01/2020 22:02

Gullible me is now worried there is such a filth site and I’m too ruddy scared to google....

I did dragon butter back in the day. I’m still scarred.

SympatheticSwan · 12/01/2020 22:03

@LauraAurora79
Yes, this is when I also thought that she eventually has some political ambitions.
Now she probably will have credentials as the American who won against the "establishment", i.e. the RF. She's a woman. She's a mother. She's mixed race. She's self-made. She is charitable. She will resonate with an awful lot of voters.
It would be silly for a major political force not to try and recruit her. I bet on the Democratic party.

NumbersStation · 12/01/2020 22:03

I just wish to clarify - I did not DO dragon butter but I googled it.

Sake...

Chocpear · 12/01/2020 22:04

@MRSsqueak, a Sunday Times article by their Royal Correspondent said they possibly could do the lucrative US speech circuit and setting up a humanitarian Foundation, both things the Clintons and Obamas have done.

The journalist also said Harry has shown interest in eco tourism so that could be something he pursues. I think there will be big interest in them in the US and it’s possible Canada is a staging post before a move to the US. This would explain why their statement said they are moving to North America and not specifically Canada.

TitchyP · 12/01/2020 22:04

I'm sure the Queen wants to support H&M in leading the type of life they want, whether or not she agrees with it. But I can't see how she can countenance the monetising and branding of a royal title. Surely she'll put a stop to that!

DeRigueurMortis · 12/01/2020 22:06

Absolutely Italian.

I think we've got this all wrong - 3 threads on H&M when the real scandal is British mis-appropriation of pasta Grin

ItalianinLondon · 12/01/2020 22:07

"Extraordinary General Meeting" at Sandringham, lol. They make it sound like a convention of the Yugoslavian Communist Party...

NumbersStation · 12/01/2020 22:07

Pasta.getitright is your friend Grin

(I'm being tongue in cheek before anyone feels personally attacked)

Too late!

To suggest that any true English person would eat pasta that doesn't come from a tin as the Good Lord intended it to be...?!

You go too far!

(Me, I'm Welsh and have great faith in a book called The Geometry of Pasta which explains to me about the marriage of pasta and sauce.

However, I do occasionally end up with loads of bits of different pastas and I - sorry about this - cook them up together and put them in a pasta bake.

To sort of quote Friends:
I'm LaMarschallin; I'm disgusting )

ItalianinLondon · 12/01/2020 22:09

@DeRigueurMortis don't tempt me! I could all too easily start 3 AIBU threads about pasta.

  1. Wrong use of pasta types
  2. Wrong cooking of pasta
  3. Why isn't it acceptable to have pasta 5 times a week?
ItalianinLondon · 12/01/2020 22:11

@LaMarschallin mixed pasta is acceptable! Any decent salumeria sells it cut price in bags. I've never seen it here though...

Needmorecaffine · 12/01/2020 22:12

FFS I have just googled Dragon Butter Confused

Chocpear · 12/01/2020 22:12

@ItalianinLondon, please consider starting all 3 threads on AIBU on pastagate. Reading your posts I realise I have so much to learn on the do and dont’s of pasta cooking. Bloomin love pasta and I need to know more!

DeRigueurMortis · 12/01/2020 22:14

Ohh yes I'm up for a pasta thread!!!!

yolofish · 12/01/2020 22:14

3. Why isn't it acceptable to have pasta 5 times a week?

This is completely wrong in every way. I would happily eat pasta 7 x a week (angloIrish for ref, but fuck me potatoes are lovely but hard work!)

LaMarschallin · 12/01/2020 22:15

mixed pasta is acceptable! Any decent salumeria sells it cut price in bags.

I'm so happy! I've never felt acceptable before.

Bit sad about the lack of salumerias (sp?) selling it here though.
The closest we seem to come is those bags of Cadburys MisShapes.

And let me tell you, they are rubbish with pesto.

NumbersStation · 12/01/2020 22:15

@Needmorecaffine

You were telt....

I have a colleague who will google things I’ve seen on mumsnet. He puts it in gentle terms for me usually.

He is immune to filth and does not judge the mouths of mumsnetters Blush

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/01/2020 22:16

Hang on, ItalianinLondon ... are you suggesting my thing of having separate piles of meatballs, penne and tomato sauce from a jar (which I use as a dipping sauce) isn't the thing to do??

Bugger ... Blush

LaMarschallin · 12/01/2020 22:17

FFS I have just googled Dragon Butter

Numbers is a bad influence.

*My pet name for Numbers.

katiegoestoaldi · 12/01/2020 22:18

Been following this thread with so much interest, I'm glued!

Latest development: leading headline on DMs website is that the plan to move to L.A. once Donald Trump is out of office

I always thought she'd end up back in L.A. Canada is a red herring to soften the move

ItalianinLondon · 12/01/2020 22:18

Ha, I might have to start this pasta thread... before I get banned for derailing the Royal discussion!

SirVixofVixHall · 12/01/2020 22:19

I have never dared google the dragon item. Can anyone explain in gentle terms, as though it is 1935 and you are talking to a maiden aunt ?

As another aside, I am watching season 3 of The Crown. Why are they all decades too old for their parts?
