Sorry for the crude title!! Am I alone with this phobia!? Absolutely hate having to do a number 2 at work, the fact you're away from your desk for longer than usual everyone KNOWS what you're up to!Blush
Am I being completely unreasonable or are there other insane people out there too who share this phobia?

I hate pooing anywhere that isn’t my own toilet at home so completely understand!

Thinking about it, it is completely ridiculous! I am trying to get better about it though

Looneytune253 · 03/01/2020 09:46

I don't poo out and about unless I have to but I don't understand your reasoning tho! I understand I'm in the minority though just from the people in my house. If I have a poo I'm in and out almost as quick as a wee. In your case tho unless you're taking a long long time then I doubt your colleagues would notice you taking a cpl of mins longer than a wee tbh.

BeanTownNancy · 03/01/2020 09:47

I love it. It's extra satisfying knowing I'm being paid for it, and there are no babies screaming or toddlers trying to open the door.

Bliss.

(I literally returned to work from maternity leave yesterday. I'm so happy!)

Oysterbabe · 03/01/2020 09:47

I think you overestimate how much people pay attention to what you're doing. I doubt that they're there with a stopwatch. Unless you're doing a half hour man shit then I doubt they register. And even if they did, so what? It's a normal bodily function that everyone does.

soulasylum · 03/01/2020 09:48

@Oysterbabe you're completely right. It is irrational but I still can't help being paranoid, haha

I get this OP, I work in a large hospital with many toilets for staff to use and I find myself always going to the most isolated one to avoid people standing outside waiting on me to finish my business. I need a 'safe haven' in work to poo (which happens on most days as I am a creature of habit!).

TheSquitz · 03/01/2020 09:52

I used to hate pooing at work when the staff toilets were right next to the staffroom ( school) and people could be passing by as I emerged from a foul smelling fug. An extension was built onto the building with new toilets a couple of years back, so I feel I can let rip with abandon now.

nocluewhattodoo · 03/01/2020 09:54

I am another who doesn't poo anywhere but my own loo at home Blush

DickDewy · 03/01/2020 09:57

I have never once had a shit at work. I don’t think I could, tbh.

I can sympathise that some people have IBS or whatever - they have no choice. But otherwise - just no.

We used to have a colleague that would head to the loo at 10am for a stinky, splatty shit. There would always be a big rush just before, to get in there before she reeked the place out.

TheSquitz · 03/01/2020 09:58

But what if you need to poo nocluewhattodo ? I get to work at 7.30am and don't get home until about 5.30pm. I couldn't hold a poo in for 10 hours Confused

Oysterbabe · 03/01/2020 09:59

Also do home pooers never go on holiday?

soulasylum · 03/01/2020 10:02

I have the most sensitive bowels in the world (TMI) and consequently need to poo several times a day. God must hate me to give me a poo phobia with my sensitive stomach😂

@thesquitz you made me laugh, I'm glad you can now let rip with abandon!

BustedDreams · 03/01/2020 10:02

Poo spray is what you need Grin Come out of loo leaving it smelling of roses.

Spidey66 · 03/01/2020 10:04

I never understand those saying "I don't poo at work" like it's a choice you make. I normally poo at home as I'm regular as clockwork (5 minutes after getting up) but if I needed to go at work I would, and would rather go there than in my knickers, which would be the only feasible option.

CharlotteMD · 03/01/2020 10:07

I never have time to or eat. Just grab coffee as and when.

Oysterbabe · 03/01/2020 10:08

I have no issue going at work but would also have no issue holding on a few hours until getting home. For many people needing a poo doesn't mean you have to go immediately.

SimonJT · 03/01/2020 10:09

I have never done a poo at work, I also never did a poo at school as a child. Also don’t poo in public toilets, on aeroplanes, airports, bars etc.

I am in full control of my bum hole.

roses2 · 03/01/2020 10:10

I prefer doing a poo at work because I save on buying toilet paper at home!

redwoodmazza · 03/01/2020 10:11

I'm retired now but I never had a shit at work!!!
I just couldn't - I'm with you OP.

TwentyViginti · 03/01/2020 10:11

Women have subconsciously absorbed the thinking that we shouldn't have such basic bodily functions, and if we do insist on having them - keep them hidden at home! Grin

WorldsOnFire · 03/01/2020 10:12

DH can totally choose when he poo’s - honestly he can wait all day or go to sleep and say ‘I’d rather go in the morning’

I’ve never been like that! I get 10-20 minutes notice and then grow increasingly uncomfortable until I relieve myself.

I’m not sure which of us is the weirder one.

SeagullOnTheWind · 03/01/2020 10:13

What I want to know, is, how come many men take 20-40 minutes to shit?

The answer I get is about making sure it's not rushed and it all comes out.

But the thing is, that even with my weird bowel complaints I'm in and out. I don't bother taking my phone in etc because the temptation is then to sit in there for ages.

Why am I expected to wait so long for our loo at home to be vacated?

DickDewy · 03/01/2020 10:14

It’s totally a choice I make.

These threads make me realise we are all physically very different.

I simply would not shit at work because I can control it. I don’t get sudden urges that I can’t control. I go first thing in the morning and last thing at night if I’m at home. We’ve just returned from a night at friends’ and I didn’t go once. I can switch it on and off 🤷‍♀️

Oysterbabe · 03/01/2020 10:15

I hear that a lot from men, that they need to let it come out and it takes time. Do you think women are better at pushing because we're designed to have babies? 😂

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 03/01/2020 10:16

I’m always first in work in the AM and able to slip into the toilet at the far end where nobody really goes. I destroy that toilet every morning after my coffee. (Yes I make sure I leave it clean)
