Sorry for the crude title!! Am I alone with this phobia!? Absolutely hate having to do a number 2 at work, the fact you're away from your desk for longer than usual everyone KNOWS what you're up to!Blush
Am I being completely unreasonable or are there other insane people out there too who share this phobia?

I used to walk to another floor with a different toilet and spray perfume before I pood. Did it during my break so it wasn't so obvious. Just hated needing to poo at work. I still hate going anywhere but home.

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 03/01/2020 18:51

Oh haha I clicked on cos I hate shitting work!
Don't mind shitting at work though. Sometimes it's the only peace and quiet I get!

PinkiOcelot · 03/01/2020 18:54

I just can’t go at work. I don’t really know why, quite happy to sit and do a wee with someone in the next cubicle, but just can’t do a poo.

Northernsoullover · 03/01/2020 18:57

Unfortunately I am regular as clockwork. When I used to drink alcohol daily that meant first thing in the morning. Get up and job done Wink
Now I no longer drink my pattern has moved to around 3pm. As a self employed person that means I can nip home but I am already dreading returning to an office environment. I can't wait. If I need to go I need to go!
The only time I could hold on was in school. I think it was the disgusting state of the toilets and the Izal bog roll that tightened up ones sphincter.

raspberrymolakoff · 03/01/2020 19:02

I'm another who only gets 10-15 minutes notice and I couldn't not go. DH is a hanger on and will come home saying he's wanted a poo for hours. It's a shame that many of us are more emancipated about carrying a tampon to the loo but still feel ashamed to have a poo, which everyone does.

ComeOnGordon · 03/01/2020 19:09

I had my favourite poo toilet at work for the odd occasion I needed to do one at work but they’ve just started some renovations and it’s now not usable 😢 the other toilets are single cubicles but they open onto the main corridor so I’m not as happy using them

Singlemammaxx · 03/01/2020 19:17

We have two room toilets at work and two cubicles together, I can never go for even a wee in cubicles when it’s silent because I hate other people hearing me. I use mainly one of the room toilets because not many people work that side of the building, I’ll happily go for a poo in there!

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 03/01/2020 19:32

I find that if people hear you weeing or pooing, it seems to make them less inhibited about making their own noises. I have hangups about plenty of things but I am not going to start crouching apologetically over the bog and dying of embarrassment because I didn't manage to aim my wee at the porcelain instead of directly into the water. What do you want people to think you're doing in there? Having a nice sit down in different surroundings for two minutes?

I grew up in a small bungalow where you couldn't go to the loo without everyone else in the house knowing about it. I guess it was poor design that the bathroom was right in the middle of the house so you could hear what was going on in there from any other room. If I hadn't been able to overcome any toilet embarrassment, my bladder would have exploded before I was even out of primary school, so I suppose I just have no shame now. But I'm glad on the whole that it doesn't bother me!

Nutkin123 · 03/01/2020 19:33

Pooing at work is the best - why would you shit on your own time Crown Grin

TeeniefaeTinseltoon · 03/01/2020 19:34

I don't even pee at my work as it's such a small office and you can here. I practically run into the house after work every night 😂

ouch321 · 03/01/2020 19:48

What I don't like is when your colleagues follow you into the washroom.

The washroom is only a few seconds' walk away from the room we're in and the washroom door is quite noisy on closing so everyone knows you've gone in there.

What I don't understand is why they don't give you 5 minutes till you're done and returned to desk before they go in there. Why do people want to listen to what other people are doing or be heard themselves?

When that happens to me, I have to stop, wait until the other person is completely done and left the washroom and only then I can continue. That's for anything at all you might be doing in the washroom, No, 1, 2 or 3.

Thefaceofboe · 03/01/2020 20:01

I can sympathise that some people have IBS or whatever - they have no choice. But otherwise - just no.

You don’t have to have ISB to need a poo at work. If I need a poo, I have no choice in the matter.

Thefaceofboe · 03/01/2020 20:02

I mean IBS obviously!

Babybel90 · 03/01/2020 20:07

I hate it too, I never used to do a poo at work until I was pregnant and then I couldn’t hold it in. My office has got 5 cubicles so I can only go if I check they’re all empty first, then I go or a little walk around the building before I go back to my desk because I used to work with someone who smelled strongly of shit when she came out of the toilet and I’m a bit paranoid I’ll drag the poo smell back into the office.

DinoGreen · 03/01/2020 20:36

I’ve found my people! I used to be totally paranoid about pooing anywhere but home and could always hold it for hours (though would sometimes get uncomfortable if it had been a very long time). Then last year my work moved into a new office which has lovely toilets, floor to ceiling cubicles, and the fans are so forceful that smells disappear within seconds. The only issue is they are not terribly well sound proofed, but I resolved that by always nipping down the stairs to the next floor down which is unoccupied so there was never anyone else in there - result! I started being able to poo at work.

Then ... literally today ... I went downstairs and it was full of builders who have started fitting out the floor for a new occupier - noooooo! I’m not sure what I’ll do now ... I think there is one other unoccupied floor somewhere in the (very tall) building so I might get away with it for a while yet!

Pleasedontdrawonyoursister · 03/01/2020 20:49

I have never, ever done a poo at work! I would literally hold it for 10 hours (and have done!). As a child I would go on brownie camps/school trips for days and not go once Blush

honeyloops · 03/01/2020 20:53

I can decide to go or not, doesn't seem to have any adverse effects, so I very rarely go at work because our toilets are in a weird place and very close to the communal areas - YANBU!

TheFuckingDogs · 03/01/2020 20:55

Haha! My poor husband got an urgent bad stomach problem on the way back from a trip today and we had to make an emergency stop at a supermarket 😂😂 he was mortified!
Unless extreme circumstances though I would NEVER dare to poo at work 🙈

Deadringer · 03/01/2020 21:05

I hate going anywhere other than my own home. Luckily I almost always go shortly after I get up in the morning, but when I have to go I have to go. Recently I was in work and held on and held on and i was wretched, terrified I was going to shit myself. Never again, from now on I will go when I need to, it's a perfectly normal bodily function that we all have to do.

Animum2 · 03/01/2020 21:11

If you gotta go then just go, doesn't matter to me!

Jaguarana · 03/01/2020 21:17

I really don't care, if I need to go I go. It doesn't bother me where. I can't imagine holding it in all day, that seems very odd to me and must be so uncomfortable.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 03/01/2020 21:18

I’ve never given it a moments thought tbh Confused if I need to go I go.

MoonlightMistletoe · 03/01/2020 21:23

YANBU, I don't do my business anywhere but home. If someone is in my bedroom which there's an en suit then I'd use the other bathroom. Silly but I hate it!

OccasionallyIncomplet · 03/01/2020 21:24

Just remember - you are being paid whilst you do it at work! A couple of visits a day - that a good 45 minute of popping on company time!

MoonlightMistletoe · 03/01/2020 21:26

Also is extreme but I always have to have a shower after I go Grinso I go in the morning have a shower , if I need to go in the evening then I do and then have a shower.
