Sorry for the crude title!! Am I alone with this phobia!? Absolutely hate having to do a number 2 at work, the fact you're away from your desk for longer than usual everyone KNOWS what you're up to!Blush
Am I being completely unreasonable or are there other insane people out there too who share this phobia?

I work in a big cold unit with 2 blokes. Our 'bathroom' has a small sink (with no hot water) You can't really hide the fact you are going for a poo so you just have to get on with it! Grin

Mummyshark2019 · 03/01/2020 21:34

Holding your poo in is so bad for you. Poo away people...

Lotts123 · 03/01/2020 21:45

I can’t go at work. I can’t go anywhere other than at home - It’s not like I intentionally hold it, it’s just that if I don’t feel comfortable it won’t happen.

I really struggle on holiday, sometimes I’m 5 days in and fed up because things aren’t working as they should. I really try. I expect it when I’m going away now so I take Green Tea with me and I practice deep breathing techniques because I can feel the tension in my stomach and I’m sure that’s why nothing happens. Sometimes it works, it’s never the same as if I was at home but there has been an improvement.

BeenThereDone · 03/01/2020 21:47

There's a girl i work with who will go home, only lives across the road from workplace. So do I but there are a million toilets in the place so going is never an issue.

Squidgyflump · 03/01/2020 22:18

My 6 year old absolutely refuses to do a poo in school if she needs to go and will hold it all day until ahe gets home

Ruddle91 · 03/01/2020 22:24

I mean I hate it but I have crohns so it happens 🙈 a lot Envy(not envy)

Al1cewith2020vision · 03/01/2020 22:37

A couple of visits a day - that a good 45 minute of popping on company time!

How on earth can you string it out so long? 45 minutes of pooing a day? That’s 11 days a year !!!!

PrtScn · 03/01/2020 23:26

You do realise that toilets are designed so that germs won’t live long on them, and that toilet paper is extremely absorbent, so covering the seat will assist the passage of any germs that are there?

Well if that's the case then all the germs should be dead by the time I come to toilet paper the seat Wink

Rosebel · 03/01/2020 23:55

If I need to go I need to go. Couldn't care less if I have to shit at work. Holding it in gives me awful stomach ache. My daughter on the other hand will spend the whole day not going (not even a wee) and I do worry as she comes home bursting for a wee and thirsty as she hasn't drunk much. Still can't exactly insist she uses the school toilet.

Mammylamb · 03/01/2020 23:56

I’ve got ibs so unfortunately have no choice and have to go at work.

I am an expert at finding hidden toilets in the building.

LuluJakey1 · 03/01/2020 23:59

I only poo at home. On holiday I have to poo there but I have to take laxatives first few days or would not go. I never pooed at work in 15 years.

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 04/01/2020 00:06

I don’t know how all you people hold it in! I get a warning and then I have to go otherwise it is very uncomfortable! But then again I work in nursing and see what constipation does to people on a daily basis and do not want to go down that road, holding it in is not good for you

Bluerussian · 04/01/2020 04:40

I understand very well and can probably count on the fingers of one hand how many times I ever poo'd at work.

puds11 · 04/01/2020 04:49

I go home Blush I’m even uncomfortable in my house if my DH or guests are in. If I stay at peoples houses I get terrible bowel issues from the nerves of it all and end up having to take something. It’s extreme I know but I don’t know how to change it.

TooManyPaws · 04/01/2020 04:54

When I need to go, I need to go! Ever heard of 'touching cloth' as an expression? 😁

thunderthighsohwoe · 04/01/2020 06:37

I have IBS and often get a few minutes warning at best. It is very obvious when I abruptly disappear to the loo.

Luckily I work with 8 year olds (teacher) who are pretty open about their bowel habits too.

minesagin37 · 04/01/2020 06:44

Dear me! It's a biological process that everyone does. Pardon me for the pun but most people don't give a shit ( if you're having a shit)!

Bluerussian · 04/01/2020 07:38

Yes of course, if you have to go you have to go but it's much nicer to do it at home than at work.

Gwilt160981 · 04/01/2020 07:42

I don't like public toilets neither, I'd sooner wait to have a number 2 on the comfort of my own throne. 😆

sqirrelfriends · 04/01/2020 07:55

I hate pooping at work but if I have to go then I must preform a reconnaissance mission before hand. I try to go when there are no others in there.

Other poopers are the worst to be stuck with, they just stop what they're doing and wait for the toilet to clear out so I leave and let them get on with it in peace. My colleague once got stuck for about 45 minutes as someone decided to come in to do their makeup. She decided to wait it out but didn't realise how long they would be and didn't want to walk out after 10 minutes.

Newbie1999 · 04/01/2020 08:00

I literally walk 5 mins to another building within my company if I need to go. Grin

dudsville · 04/01/2020 08:01

I actively seek the work poo. I miss it on holiday. Work gives me just enough angst to work or put a little pressure on my system so that I feel I'm emptying, whereas at home or on holiday, in the absence of this pressure, I can often feel a little backed up!

Herja · 04/01/2020 08:14

I definitely know this problem! Now I seem to have about 2 minutes notice and need a poo 8 times a day or so. Stupid arse. It has definitely forced me to get past the loo problem though.

SuperMeerkat · 04/01/2020 08:17

I’ll only go at work if there’s no-one else there. I used to love it at my old work though because my favourite bathroom was in the old part of the building. It was quite literally like a family bathroom with a bath, shower and loo. It was also quite long so the loo was far away from the heavy door. I’d go in there, with my phone, and chill out there for 30 mins whilst having a poop. It was fab 😂

Coughy4u · 04/01/2020 08:35

I think it's normal if you need to go you need to go!

VIPOO or similar for smell, toilet paper first for splash backs./noise

I really dislike hoverers even if you wipe i dont want to sit on that. Use a shewee or something if you want to pee standing up!
