AIBU?
To think this is selfish (nativity)

My child's nativity today, 2 showings morning and afternoon. My daughter had a decent part with lines...not showing off they started school as a shy quiet child so massive step for her and I wanted to get her part on my phone. Anyway got there 15 minutes early I'm never one of the saddos that arrives early to hog the front row I always just slink to the back.
Bare in mind I was 15 minutes early front row was filled and ended up having to slink to the back.
I looked along the front row and there was literally about 4 parents the rest were obviously extended family bit peeved but hey they obviously got there mega early I don't got time for that shit.
I had to stand at the back zooming in to get a vid of my child which was annoying but hey ho. Anyway my aibu is I later found out that the parents at the front mum, dad, two sets of grandparents had been to both the showings (4 hours apart) and took up half the front row in both shows!! Their child didn't have a speaking part(), it's really pissed me off tbh as they should have at least let other parents have a chance at being at the front to get some decent pics etc. And the fact that it was half their family as well.
Anyway I know I sound precious but without going into things this was a massive moment for my child and it would have been nice to actually have had a decent view and come away with a nice vid of her part.

I wanted to video to show my other kids and as I said there were other reasons this was big for me, I didn't want to sit in the front row never have tbh it was just the principle as all of us that had come to the second show didn't even have the option they litrally must have got there half an hour early and as I said I had my younger child so couldn't stand outside waiting for all that time.

People had to nip from work, sort childcare, and as I said I had a 2 year old with me so not always possible to get there earlier, I was 15 minutes early. Yes you can video but I only had my daughter on the camera and I don't share on social media anyway just keep on my phone.

ohwhen wtf are you talking about? What have I said apart from they were selfish why would I say anything in front of my kids? Do you think I sat there pissed off the whole play? I didn't care at the time it was only when I found out afterwards that 6 members of a family had sat in the front row for both showings.

YANBU. It was selfish of them to hog the front row if they’d already seen it and sat there the first time.
Any normal person would sit further back for their second viewing IMO.
But don’t let it upset you. You were there and that’s the most important thing

You say this was a big achievement for your child for whatever reason...Maybe the same but even more so applied to their child/grandchild. We don't know what is going on in other people's lives. Your got to see your dc's performance and that's the main thing.

I think your being reasonable at being frustrated. I think the problem with the other family is bringing extended family and going to both showings! So weird.
Last year a woman stood on her chair in front of me to view better. Not at the back but literally in the middle of the audience.
Slightly dreading my DD nativity tomorrow...
