So i originally followed Mrs Hinch when i saw her on This Morning and i thought i would be a great way of getting cleaning tips.....which originally it was. But now i think it has turned into this one big advertising campaign and what items she has been gifted.
So i have decided to unfollow her and i feel so much better for it.
What are your thoughts?

I don't follow her specifically but I have unfollowed quite a few bloggers for the same reason. They're so shameless with it and the adverts are so contrived. YANBU

Definitely agree with @gogreen that most of instagram is now just like one big advertisement. Funny thing is, so many people get #gifted so much of what I used to spend my hard earned cash on, and now because of that I do refuse to buy. I'm not kidding when I say I used to get through three jo Malone candles a month. Now they've been gifted to do many, it's cheapened the brand and has made me not want to pay over inflated prices to a bunch of freeloaders can get them for nothing.

As for Mrs Hinch, I had a friend who used to work for her when she was a sales manager for an advertising company. She has always been an amazing sales woman (won awards for top sales woman and had the gift of the gab) and was always outgoing, confident and loud. Nothing like the 'hairdresser' with anxiety, girl next door she claimed to be. She made out she was humbled by going to all these fancy places as her instagram career took off, but the reality is, she used to visit these places anyway when she won sales awards to go to them.

Still, good luck to her, she's done well and does no harm. Just wish people would be true to themselves and others. People have gone into debt to be like her which isn't good :(

I found it all quite endearing to start with but I am getting more and more sceptical by the day.The amount of stuff gifted is massive. She has joined forces with Stacey Solomon and their feeds are very similar now it’s hard to tell which is which.

Why does anyone "follow" anyone one on SM ? Who gives a stuff what someone you dont know is pretending to do with their lives ? Do we really need to be told how to clean our homes, what tat to buy and how to live our own lives. Instagram is like being kids in the playground, to scared to have your own ideas. You are being mugged off

I wish people would post in other sections apart from bloody AIBU!! Put stuff like this in Chat or something.

Anyway, I don’t think she particularly hides the fact she’s one big shill does she? I don’t use Instagram, but I’m aware of the main personalities (how could anyone not be) and I think she’s one of the more transparent ones with regards to the fact all her posts are basically just adverts.

I’ve unfollowed a few people for this reason. Someone I love on Instagram is close to being culled as well as her account is all advertising and stupid amounts of stuff she gets gifted for herself and her family.

She can afford to buy it so why should she get shedloads if it for nothing when others work so hard and can’t afford to buy these things.

I have an Instagram account as a friend went travelling and nagged me to sign up so I could follow their trip. I have never posted anything myself.
I followed a few famous people out of curiosity. I have stuck with a few of them as I find what they have to say quite interesting (Bella Mackie is one). Some of the others are just entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

Part Time Working Mummy is one I used to love and now can’t stand.

Gifted obscene amounts of stuff and just chucks it in a spare room.

She was also sent significant PayPal donations for her domestic violence cause and no feedback about what she did with the money.

She’s also set up an Instagram account for her 15 year old daughter and encouraged people to follow her, result is that her 15 year old daughter now has over 12k followers which Mummy thinks is amazing. No clue about safeguarding her daughter it seems. None of these 12k followers will be men perving over her daughter of course 🙄.

I don’t want a house like hers, but I see a woman doing well for herself and presumably making a lot of money. Not an issue for me.

I unfollowed her months ago because of this. A zillion stories a day and if she posts something to her feed it ALWAYS starts with Ad: good afternoon hinchers, how are you all today....

There’s only so many times you can watch someone go to B&M and Home Bargains and be interested in their ‘haul’. Having face masks and bath bombs explained to you is a bit dull. Grin

To be honest, I don't really follow any 'influencers' or people who just Get Free Stuff. There are many, many people to follow, including celebs who just post day to day stuff and I like them all the more for it.

I agree with PP who said she feels freebies cheapen the brand.....

Johnny Lee Miller mainly posts videos of his cat!

You need to find new people to follow!

I think that's true of any successful vlogger tbh, once they draw a big audience they get offered more stuff and then have to squeeze it in to their content. It does put me off. I follow one that does good videos so tend to watch their older ones, as their attempts to squeeze mushroom coffee and similar products into a vlog about (say) morning routines does grate a bit. They've got to earn a living though, so I can't complain too much just hit the fast forward on YouTube though

And that is on them. They made the choice. They chose to follow her. Ads are everywhere especially online and on tv. Do people purchase everything that they see advertised, no.
