well when you're talking musically it's an absolutely redundant term as if you don't like someones music you are hardly going to class them as a "genius" which means the term is totally subjective and based on personal preferences.
many think doherty is a genius many think he plays pretentious soft rock. many think eminem is a genius others think he is a mysoginistic homophobic twat. last weekend 70,000 people went to see a band that has been around for over 3 decades in slane (the rolling stones) who i'[m sure many class as genius but if they were playing in my back garden i'd pull the curtains and put on the arctic monkeys.

I just don't get on with rich, stupid, arrogant types who think they are above the law because of who they are.

They should be made to spend a week with the families in Cuba who provide their drugs for a pittance just to be able to feed their families. Then they should be forced to visit families of druggies who have died in abject poverty, or spend some time observing the dealers as they persuade youngsters to get hooked on it and then raise the prices so high the kids can no longer afford it so the dealers beat them black and blue and rape their girlfriends.

That is the real world of drugs is it not? You don't need to read the Daily Mail to feel real anger about rich tossers making drugs look great to young kids.

I get the Independent and watch the news and can't say that he pops up THAT often! I'm not bothered anyway tbh - his life, his body, his money, his drugs etc etc.
At least in the paper and news it isn't sensationalised to the same degree....

I live near an estate which has a few 'dodgy feckin chavs' as I like to refer to them. One of whom, is neither rich, nor privileged but seems to get away with everything because he is a drug addict....... it's the state of the nation, not reserved for the rich and famous IMHO.

but this isn't what they do. they don't take drugs with the explicit intent of turning a generation into junkies. they do drugs either because they enjoy them or because they are hooked. if others wish to follow their actions then i don't see how they are to blame.

I'm not ranting against drugs per se, but the idea that they get away with it all because of who they are.

Lots of people in high positions still take a lot of drugs, just not so openly. Rock stars have been 'leading youngsters astray' for eons if you read the press. Agree with KidRock's quote completely.
I did drugs because I wanted to I wasn't trying to be like anyone else - just genuinely enjoyed it!

I think drugs were a lot different back in day. Now they mix all of these nasty drugs up with Cillit Bang and whatever else they can find!!
And it also seemed like the old time druggies had style (well, maybe not style). Keith Richards could still play like a total pro even when completely out of his mind!
PD is just a mess and if wearing vomit in your hair is what the supermodels go for these days, I hope my sons finds a nice plain librarian.

Putting Drug Addicts into prison does more harm than good according to recent studies, and my post below shows that the police here do feck all about the trouble we have and I'm sure our problem youngsters aren't budding genius' either! I wouldn't want to see them locked up though.....

PD's mum did some pieces in the Times a while back about how she'd been a real SAHM, a true earth mother and couldn't understand how her intelligent, darling, sensitive son had turned into such a twat.
