To give ds the benefit of the doubt and believe him

IonlySMOKEwhenIMonFiRE · 24/06/2019 15:07

Ds’s girlfriend is 11 weeks pregnant, they are both 17 and although when they found out about the pregnancy there were lots of tears and reality checks they have decided to go through with the pregnancy.

2 weeks ago it came to light that ds ex-girlfriend is pregnant and she is claiming that ds is the father, ds is still friends with his ex and he has now admitted staying over at her parents house with her a few times but he is denying sleeping with her.

His girlfriend has ended the relationship with him because of this and refuses to answer any of his calls so he decided to give her some space in the hope that she would calm down and speak to him.

He went out with his friends on Saturday night and his girlfriend phoned me in tears because someone sent her a snapchat of ds kissing his friends cousin and she said she’s also heard that he slept with the cousin, I was furious and when ds got home I questioned him about it and he denied it all and told me that I either believe him or stay out of his personal life.

At a guess I'd say someone just did Grin

contrary13 · 24/06/2019 17:26

Give your son the benefit of the doubt... but be prepared to have two grandchildren, by two young women - who, quite frankly, would be better off without your son in their (that's "their" and not their children's, incidentally!) lives.

Have you considered teaching your son how contraception works? Giving him the birds and the bees "chat"? What's the old saying... it takes two to tango? Two to make a baby?

IF your son is the father to either one of these putative children (after all, how can you say with any certainty that one young woman is lying and another telling the truth?), then be prepared to either not be in their lives on a regular basis and/or have a few more before he turns 25.

Birth rate's looking buoyant in your town ,OP.

peachsquish · 24/06/2019 17:41

Christ he sounds like my ex. 2 children 2 weeks apart and unsurprisingly he was a liar.

TheLittleDogLaughed · 24/06/2019 17:46

Is this for real? The log cabin one was a bit dubious but now this ...

Bluntness100 · 24/06/2019 17:51

Give him the benefit of the doubt on what exactly? You saw a pic of them kissing, so yes it's possible he had sex with her.

Seriously. He's likely got two girls pregnant, he's now cheating on his current girlfriend. How did you raise something like this?

bigbeans · 24/06/2019 17:54

How did you raise something like this?

Perhaps by always giving him the benefit of the doubt 🙂

ilovepixie · 24/06/2019 17:56

Such a pity Jeremy Kyle has been axed!

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 24/06/2019 18:01

You don't know wether to give him the benefit of the doubt when you know very well he'd not only lie himself, but that he'd ask others (you) to do it on his behalf?

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 24/06/2019 18:13

Thinking about this, I think the conversation you need to have with your son is that he is now irrevocably linked to these two young women (presuming he is the father, and that both girls continue the pregnancies) for at least the next 18 years. So for longer than he’s so far been alive he will be handing over a substantial percentage of every single wage he receives. And that’s before getting to the idea of co-parenting and stepping up and being an involved father.

Bwekfusth · 24/06/2019 18:18

This is brilliant. Well done OP. 🙄

BishopBrennansArse · 24/06/2019 18:24

You might like to point out to your DS that he's not solely responsible for populating the planet, OP.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/06/2019 18:27

What a colossal fuckturd of a situation

Your kid is a BELL END

pollypenguin01 · 24/06/2019 18:31

OMG just read the other thread and your DS is not very nice!

I think the army might be the answer tbh!

LillithsFamiliar · 24/06/2019 18:31

If your DS has got two girls pregnant, I think it's fair to say both him and you ignored all the advice on the log cabin thread.

chuttypicks · 24/06/2019 18:37

First things first. Show your child how to use a condom and impress the importance upon him fgs. Secondly, he probably is doing what they're saying. The next thing you know the cousin will be pregnant too. Your son is an irresponsible horndog.

Tallgreenbottle · 24/06/2019 18:42

He's 17. He is going to be fucking around. You can still have his back but tell him you don't believe him and he needs to get his arse in gear.

Though also at 17 I would've actively discouraged both of them from continuing with the pregnancy at all.

Their life is now 10x harder than it needs to be and hers moreso because most likely your son wont have a particularly active part in the raising of the child.

I'd be ashamed of my son if he acted like that. Also if he was irresponsible enough to fuck around without condoms obviously.

You need to stress that even if he is not with the girl (because lets be honest, they wont stay together) he is still a father and has to stand up and try and be a good one.

SunshineCake · 24/06/2019 18:44

I doubt the OP has the decency to come back

Omzlas · 24/06/2019 18:47

I thought the OP sounded familiar....

Mine's minstrels please

And teach your DS some sex education and responsibilities FFS

Cocoloco2019 · 24/06/2019 19:00

Jesus Christ it’s a shame Jeremy Kyle got cancelled Grin jk, in all seriousness, I think your son needs a good talking to. Seriously. He needs to understand he can’t go throwing his dick around at 17 and not have repercussions. I think he needs a short sharp shock, he clearly thinks he can bring all this to your door and not have the consequence. I’d find a way to show him he’s got to stand on his own two feet now he’s becoming a father. What are the girls parents having to say about all this?

TheLittleDogLaughed · 24/06/2019 19:10

There are only two threads in existence by the OP. This one and log cabin. Just saying before anybody else wastes any breath on giving advice or opinions on what is clearly as genuine as Boris Johnson.

notmylittleangel · 24/06/2019 19:41

Someone didn't talk about safe sex and responsibilities enough.

He is an idiot.
Telling you to butt out of his personal life, at 17 when he has two children on the way by two different girls.

He needs to grow up and fast

mummmy2017 · 24/06/2019 19:45

How is two girls pregnant not enough of a shock to anyone .

MumW · 24/06/2019 19:49

If this is genuine then I thj k there is a DH problem too.

Bobbiepin · 24/06/2019 19:54

Oh this is good!
