Really upset sons haircut too short!

I am seriously mourning my sons haircut.

I asked for a few weeks off the length and they’ve cut off about 3 months worth. It’s so much shorter and I’ve been crying my eyes out. Sad

I know that may not sound like a lot but it is. He looks like a different boy.

I’ve been awake all night and feel sick about it.

He’s 6 by the way.

Mmmm that’s quite an extreme reaction

It’ll grow back!

calpop · 19/05/2019 10:20

This is an over reaction. It will grow very quickly at that age and look great in a few weeks.

TonTonMacoute · 19/05/2019 10:20

What does your son think?

DownUdderer · 19/05/2019 10:20

This seems like an over reaction

Tableclothing · 19/05/2019 10:20

You've been awake all night and feeling sick about it? Are there other things in your day to day life that make you feel that way?

His hair will grow back in a few weeks.

MaidenMotherCrone · 19/05/2019 10:21

It's hair, just hair! Hair grows for goodness sake. Using time as a measurement for hair length is quite unusual though. Quirky!

Celebelly · 19/05/2019 10:21

Being awake all night seems a bit of an overreaction! It'll grow back again in a few months. Maybe be a bit more specific next time as 'a few weeks' growth is pretty open to interpretation. Ask for cm amounts instead or show them where you want it cut to.

calpop · 19/05/2019 10:22

When he is 13+ he will have all sorts of silky haircuts and you wont really be able to stop him. Plus he will look very different during/after puberty. Get used to his appearance changing now would be my advice. They dont and cant stay adorable, chubby, cute little boys forever, unfortunately, and not much beyond 7/8 anyway.

NoonAim · 19/05/2019 10:22

This can't be a serious post? You've been awake all night over a boy's haircut?

I mean this kindly OP but get a grip!

Did you really ask the barber/hairdresser for 3 weeks worth of cut?? That is very random. Confused

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 19/05/2019 10:22

Massive irrational overreaction.

Is there something else going on? Not normal or acceptable really -think of all the parents who are going through hell with serious problems with their children. I don't usually say things like that but really, count your blessings. It's a haircut.

Constance1234 · 19/05/2019 10:23

Is there something else going on in your life, as this seems like a over-reaction. Staying awake all night and feeling sick are not normal reactions to something like this. Mild disappointment and annoyance yes, but saying your son looks like a different boy is a bit concerning. Do you have someone in real life you can talk to about this?

Parker231 · 19/05/2019 10:23

Over reacting? It’s hair, it will grow back. Why would it make you feel sick and keep you awake at night?

Whoops75 · 19/05/2019 10:23
Biscuit
Aquamarine1029 · 19/05/2019 10:23

This is a very extreme, borderline hysterical, reaction. It's a hair cut. He didn't get his ears chopped off.

LoafofSellotape · 19/05/2019 10:23

It'll grow,it's not permanent,does he like it?

Singlenotsingle · 19/05/2019 10:23

Haven't you got anything more important to worry about? In a couple of weeks it'll all be back to normal.

calpop · 19/05/2019 10:24

silly not silky (looking at you 15y old ds, with last year's "I must have curtains"

PortiaCastis · 19/05/2019 10:24

What does your ds think as it's his hair ?

alwaysreadthelabel · 19/05/2019 10:24

Who asks for a haircut in weeks?????? Surely its cm or inches.

Stiffasaboard · 19/05/2019 10:25

I only hope this is all you ever have to keep you up all night in tears OP

Absolutely ridiculous

BuildABridgeAndGetOverIt · 19/05/2019 10:25

Oh for fucks sake get a grip.

What a ridiculous response to a hair cut. Also stupid to have tried to measure a length by using a unit of time. Jeez.

EggysMom · 19/05/2019 10:25

What on earth is '3 weeks' and '3 months' of cut? People's hair grows at different rates!

It'll grow back.

How short is it? I regularly clip our son's hair with a no.6 guard, it looks fantastic short.
