Really upset sons haircut too short!

I am seriously mourning my sons haircut.

I asked for a few weeks off the length and they’ve cut off about 3 months worth. It’s so much shorter and I’ve been crying my eyes out.

I know that may not sound like a lot but it is. He looks like a different boy.

I’ve been awake all night and feel sick about it.

Reminds me of the time I very confidently told the barber the type of cut I wanted for a small ds. Are you sure? Yes that's definitely right I replied.

I did that! I breezily said ‘oh, just a one all over!’ and watched him shave my son.

Yes, I certainly do feel superior to someone who has nothing nice to say when someone else is upset 🙂

Sorry but as someone who is going through a cancer scare (I don't know if I have it or not yet) this seems absolutely ridiculous. I didn't even react this way when I found the lump! It's hair! It will grow back

Once saw something that said it’s not worth getting upset about if it’s something that won’t matter in six years time. In this case, it won’t matter in 3 months time, so definitely not worth getting upset about.

I understand how you're feeling. My son had adorable blond curls until 18months but they got so long he could barely see through them. I asked my DH to take him for a trim but he came back with a short, though not brutal style. I cried over those curls I can tell you. I think it was the shock of my gorgeous baby coming back as a "proper"boy . I was pregnant at the time though so that could have had something to do with it. Their hair grows back so quickly so try not to feel so badly about it. Is there something else going on for you at the moment that could mean you're being a bit more anxious or sensitive than usual?

just use a more normal measurement, like centimeters or inches

He likes it, that’s all that matters really. He’s the same boy regardless of his haircut. He might want to keep it shorter now, let him if he does.

I used to give my ds's a number 1.
And dh a number 3..
Prior to our hols I gave them all the once over... Forgot to change the guard for dh's..
Oops.

15 years ago and he is an ex and prob still holds that grudge...
