ALWAYS MAXI NIGHT - discontinued WHY

ALWAYS MAXI NIGHT is now scented- the wisdom of always designers has finally gone mad. Again they have removed a really good product for heavy period sufferers and made it scented saying this is what women want. I really dont want people being able to smell an over scented pad. Other than that my lubby loo doesnt appreciate the irriation that it also causes, a £2 packed of scented pads ends costing me over £20 in thrush and water infection product so thanks ALWAYS. I drove round 11 shops and made several phone calls in just one day searching for the old unscented stock. Ive even rang and emailed Always asking to buy cases of old stock but no luck, ive been told women want scented or winged products. ( wings umm trusted always to leak down your legs)
If anyone else hates scented pads please contact Always to complain.
Ive tried the other nighttime peoduces on offer but find them rubbish. It would be easier to stick on the loo for a week than it is to gind decent sanitary products

Thanks popcornpoppy ive just been looking at the different ones people have been advising, i wanted to ring a couple of companies to ask advice. im interested in these period pants as well more for a second backup than anything, they sound good for night or a long day, from what ive seen they arent all like apple catchers either.
I agree about a male scent, i used to work for a guy who's lower regain reaked and you could smell him from 10 feet away we was all grossed out Yuck. He was married as well. Omg doesnt bare thinking about. When you make your dick wash can you put an irriatant in it so men know how we feel lol

I got a reply, much quicker than expected!

Thank you for contacting us at Always and for sharing your thoughts about our Maxi pads. I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t happy with the newer design of the Always Maxi pads and that you feel frustrated because of this, I’d love to help in any way that I can.

I do understand that you would prefer the original design, but I’d like to let you know that the reason these pads were changed was to introduce better features which include, having an extra absorbent core+ zone in the centre which is designed to absorb the liquid where it is needed the most, with all-around anti-leakage barriers that help to keep fluid under control and prevent from leaks (you’ll notice this is printed onto the front of the newer packs). They also have a thinner and body-fitting design for a better wearing experience and a soft top-sheet designed to keep you comfortable during both day and night with new blue symbol design to emphasize areas of high absorbency & highlight anti-leakage barriers.

Since these changes were made to prevent leaks and better the product we would never expect you to find that they are leaking and I hope you don’t mind me asking for the production codes of the products that you have? You’ll find this printed on the seam side of the polybag, and if you no longer have the packaging this can be found on the adhesive side of the pads too.

I hope I’ve been able to help you, and the feedback you've provided is very helpful and we'll make sure it's shared with the relevant teams with your request. As a thank you for taking the time to get in touch with your feedback I would like to arrange for an Always voucher to be sent to you, if this is something you’d be like to receive then please do let me know your postal address, and I can arrange for it to be sent to you immediately.

Thanks again and in the meantime if there is anything else I can help you with please do let me know.

Your feedback is very important in helping me provide the best consumer experience. In the next couple of days, you’ll receive a survey that I really hope you have time to complete, as I’d love to know your opinion on my service and if I can improve. Thank you!

Kind Regards

Jennifer

I read on here a while ago that scented pads kind of "drew out" the blood so you had heavier periods with them?

I generally use Bodyform night and ultra night. I also have Always ultra secure night and they are scented but they are the only thing that caters for my heaviest days. I only use them when I really need to.

I might investigate the reusable pad though, although I am guessing you would need quite a few of them? If it lasts the whole night I might only need two because I usually only have problems for a couple of nights and I could use the disposable Bodyform in the daytime.

I've also used Lillets in the past which weren't bad and will have a look at the Kotex black pack.

I got a bumper pack of purple always ultra heavy at Costco the other day.

I tried the Kotex ones, not bad although a bit thick but fine for nighttime or days when I am home. I don't think I would want to walk very far in them though, they are rather huge!

Urgh I went to my local supermarket today. Holy fuck. The minute I walked into the aisle the smell was overwhelming. Instant headache for me (I’m sensitive to chemical smells, they go straight to my head). I’ve been shopping there for 10 years. I try not to spend too long choosing, but if I’m reasonably fast it’s ok. Today I couldn’t even stop. It was hideous.
