This article has some helpful sketches as to how the sex chair may have been used. I have to say though, he was one ugly bugger, and I wouldn't have been overly eager to get on or under his royal sex chair!

Well! (re the sex chair).
I'm SO jealous of RubberTreePlant who may have seen it.
I've only read about it. It was described as half gynaecologist's chair, half bobsled.
Cushioned bits upholstered in pale green.
And the stirrups were gilded; nice touch.

I was wondering what the papers were. She has to give Royal Assent to all Acts of Parliament but it makes no difference whether she agrees or not, she just had to rubber stamp them. What does she say to the Prime Minister at the weekly meetings? She must feel utterly useless sitting there listening to all the comings and goings knowing it doesn't make a blind but off difference what she says. Frankly I hope an unelected monarch isn't influencing Parliament in secret meetings but from her point of view, what a waste of everybody's time!

I think Charles will try and get involved and have to be told to get his nose out. I think we have got very complacent about our constitution and exactly how much of it is made up of convention. If Charles has to be slapped down too often it may show the whole institution up for what it is. Whether we'll go as far as overthrowing them, I doubt it, but they could well just fade away.

I'm glad they drew diagrams, I was struggling to see where anyone would position themselves.

And look at how happy the little stick people are! Awwwww.....

I think this is most likely. If the royal family show themselves to be both useless and interfering, they'll be (to use Kate's phrase) 'phased out'.
