Hello everyone, here's thread 2.

I'd be very grateful if someone could do a clicky link to the last one. Still can't figure it out.

Thanks!

And when Charles wasn’t there, Anne took precedence over Diana. Just the way it is and has been.....

I so wanted to be a Princess when I was little, Lady would not have cut the mustard with me at all!

There's a nice, hopefully not apocryphal, story about the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. An acquaintance bustled up and said archly to the QM, "And who's this little lady then?", smiling at PM.
PM promptly piped up with, "I'm not a 'Lady', I'm a pr..." and was quickly interrupted by the QM saying, "No, she's not quite a lady yet but we're hoping she'll become one in time".

There s been a flurry of bets on the name Allegra -wonder if that's cos it was discussed on here?

desertgirl · 01/05/2019 07:55

LaMarschallin, I heard that story as Princess Elizabeth and Queen Mary - like you, hope it’s true, about someone!!

desertgirl · 01/05/2019 08:02

Wondered what google would turn up on the ‘not a lady’ story and found this fascinating article about a young Princess Elizabeth - even speculating on her future husband, out of a range of eligible young royals, including “Prince Philippe of Greece. 15”

Very sycophantic but fascinating!

I read that Charles is due to go to Germany on May 6th. Surely he'd want to be around for Harry's first baby being born which suggests the baby was expected to be born by them.

Cookit · 01/05/2019 08:11

I think Edward and Sophie have done the best for their children. Being a prince / princess is such a burden whereas hopefully James and Louise will be able to live relatively normal lives. I don’t envy Beatrice or Eugenia but it was very much a life their parents chose for them.

This thread has made me think more about Andrew and I can appreciate that prior to Charles’s marriage he was actually quite important. It would just have taken Charles to die or not father any children in wedlock and Andrew would have become the heir. And with Charles not really interested in settling down for a while and then forced to with a chosen suitable wife, this maybe wasn’t looking that unlikely. But then Charles did have two children (albeit we weren’t out of the woods until William turned 18) so by the time of Andrew’s marriage he must have known he was going to be more and more insignificant as time went on.

I hope Harry can find some sort of role for himself that doesn’t have him as Andrew v2 in a decade or so. I hope when Charles succeeds and H&M’s children become eligible for upgrade to Prince / Princess they decline. I assume they will decline.

I reckon she’s a week/10 days overdue poor woman. Imagine being 41/2 weeks pregnant, desperately wanting to avoid induction and the world is speculating on when it’s going to happen. Puts irritating mils on here into perspective.

Iamnotagoddess · 01/05/2019 08:12

WHERE is this baby?!!

goodbyestranger · 01/05/2019 08:17

Humpy I had a top obgyn in Oxford who wouldn't induce when I went in on Jan 4th asking to be induced with a Christmay Day due date - he said the risks of it spiralling into an emergency c-section were too high since the baby wasn't ready (that for for DC3, and a high risk pregnancy).

Boffing · 01/05/2019 08:23

I'm pretty sure a friend of mine with a history of late babies went 17 days after her due date.

I love MM ❣️💗💖 I think they've attracted more attention than just having the baby and announcing afterwards. If I didn't love her so much I'd wonder if it was attention seeking.

user1471585098 · 01/05/2019 08:25

It is possible that shes had the baby but one of them is unwell. It would be awful if we're speculating about it and there's a problem.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/05/2019 08:32

Let's hope for the absolute best for both mother and baby.

Humpy84 · 01/05/2019 08:36

Love her or critique her, I don’t think there is a woman on this thread that isn’t hoping for a safe and healthy delivery of the little bambino.

❤️❤️❤️

I am sure they are both ok, best of the best in medicine are overseeing.

lookingelsewhere · 01/05/2019 08:38

Humpy84 Agreed 100%

goodbyestranger · 01/05/2019 08:38

Yes the idea that all might not be well has occurred to me to. Even the best medical care can't always prevent problems.

Fozzleyplum · 01/05/2019 08:39

Didn't H and M say that they would put out an announcement when labour started? If my recollection is corrrect, either it hasn't started yet, or they have set themselves up for future announcements to be disbelieved.

goodbyestranger · 01/05/2019 08:42

Although I don't reckon that Harry would have been all smiley on Sunday - or even been at the London Marathon - if the baby had arrived and anything was amiss.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 01/05/2019 08:44

It is possible that shes had the baby but one of them is unwell. It would be awful if we're speculating about it and there's a problem.

This did occur to me too. It doesn't take much to send out a generic social media message saying "Baby Sussex has arrived, mum and baby are doing well, please respect our privacy over the next few days."

I would think that the baby is probably not here yet, or if it is there could be a problem (really hope this is not the case).

I can't see Harry and Meghan avoiding announcing the birth just for the sake of it.

BishopBrennansArse · 01/05/2019 08:45

@ByeClaire which doesn't make sense as Charlotte already has Diana as one of her middle names.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/05/2019 08:56

@BishopBrennansArse I thought that too. I suppose given the use of Louis multiple times the Sussexes might think it's OK to have Diana on their side too. I can't see what K & W's objection would be, if true. But I don't think it is.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 01/05/2019 08:58

ByeClaire

I’m guessing this blind is about our folks

So going by that article we could be looking at Francesca or Frances for a girl and Spencer for a boy.

Interesting......

I also think the surge on Allegra bets is due to this thread Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/05/2019 08:59

I wonder if K is twitching just a little bit about the birthday being so close to - or possibly the same date as - Charlotte's? Can't be helped, but it makes future celebrations problematic.
