Hello everyone, here's thread 2.

I'd be very grateful if someone could do a clicky link to the last one. Still can't figure it out.

Thanks!

^ to whoever mentioned about anxiety etc - growing up I was v v shy, I am better now but still my default is to be quiet. I would find the endless meet and greets exhausting, always having to put other people at ease etc. Also I am vvv private. I know people say oh it’s not for me that life, but genuinely I think I’d probably have a breakdown or have to abdicate if I was born into it.

beanaseireann · 30/04/2019 17:36

Such an interesting Mumsnet thread.
Thank you OP

TurquoiseDress · 30/04/2019 17:41

Oooh I love the name Allegra!

lyralalala · 30/04/2019 17:42

He was said to be having a role at Eugenie's wedding, similar to Louise being bridesmaid wrangler, but ended up sitting with his parents instead. Maybe he just couldn't cope with the actuality on the day.

He walked Fergie and Beatrice down the aisle did he not?

I think he's an awkward age compared to the other kids now being that bit older. I think it was more rumoured when he wasn't involved with William and Kate's wedding that he couldn't cope with crowds and the likes.

AppleKatie · 30/04/2019 18:04

Blimey keeping up with this thread is taking me more time than my actual job atm 🤣

If she has had the baby (which I doubt- far more likely HM was there to bollock Harry for not speaking to William in public than visit the baby imo), we’ll find out in the end, the birth certificate will be a public record.

ByeClaire · 30/04/2019 18:12

Have to admit, am not discounting the wacky moonbeam theories.
Just writing this to bump the thread really. Wink

Obviously jumping straight into African tents together ratchets up the intimacy a bit

And as I said earlier, I bet money that one of the middle names will be African in origin or related to a place that’s special to them in Africa. Maybe Botswana? Grin

beanaseireann

You're very welcome. It's been very interesting!

I have to admit I was a tiny bit disappointed to find they weren't confined to a two man pup tent, DofE style! For one brief moment I admired Meghan and though she might be more down to earth than she came across.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 30/04/2019 18:23

Grin at Botswana.

I reckon they'll be a nod to her mum somewhere, so Doriana or Dorothea. Diana and Elizabeth will be in there somewhere too.

If it's a boy (which most people don't think) Henry or Alexander.

Not sure about that meno-a-kwena place, but then I recently read Judith Tebbutts "Long Walk Home", where they were both kidnapped and her husband killed

Obviously I know H&M's holiday would have been crawling with security, but the place just looks a bit too open for me

TwitterQueen1 · 30/04/2019 18:24

FWIW I too believe that Meghan has had the baby - HM was not just paying a 'house visit'.

And we'll get a carefully styled portfolio of beautiful photos. Smile

MagicKingdomDizzy · 30/04/2019 18:24

There'll not they'll

Definitely!

Baby's already here I'm sure. And the first photos will be slick and professional.

I think she is actively trying to do the opposite of Kate.

Yes I'd definitely feel similar about the anxiety side of things - even if I'd been trained from an early age (and I definitely was pushed to get over it, which actually made things worse), I'd not have coped with being a royal (at least as a child). And the ones in the actual line of succession don't really get any choice in it all. At least for those at a distance, like James et al, they can be a bit more supported and protected. There was a nice photo of Sophie comforting him at one point.

Glad to hear that Sophie does seem to be nice after all - perhaps she actually changed after the sheikh incident and didn't just apologise for the sake of form. She is patron of the national autistic society I think, amongst other charities.

Haworthia · 30/04/2019 18:31

Hmm, it IS a bit suss that there was an ambulance lurking, and the Queen visited. Was the ambulance over the weekend and the Queen yesterday?

Having said that, I’m surprised Harry rocked up at the London marathon if the baby was here.

Loving Xenia and Allegra as name suggestions Smile Those are exactly the kind of “posh, but unusual” names I’ve been hoping to see.

MoreProseccoNow · 30/04/2019 18:31

This thread moves so fast! I can't find the bit about HM visiting - could someone kindly recap for me? Thanks

MissEliza · 30/04/2019 18:34

If they're not doing the posing on the steps thing, then I don't see why not just make a birth announcement, then issue some official photographs when good and ready?

MissEliza · 30/04/2019 18:35

Do people think Harry will turn down a title for his children a la Princess Anne?

RubberTreePlant · 30/04/2019 18:35

Wow that's serious glamping.

ByeClaire · 30/04/2019 18:36

The first photo will be on their instagram, with the first photoshoot in Vogue.

I do think there's quite a bit of smoke and mirrors going on but I won't speculate about that.

RubberTreePlant · 30/04/2019 18:37

I think he'll go with the "correct" thing and the baby will be Lord or Lady. His mother was a Lady and so are lots of his cousins and I don't think he'll see it as incompatible with private life.

lyralalala · 30/04/2019 18:37

Do people think Harry will turn down a title for his children a la Princess Anne?

No. I think the only question is will they be Earl Dumbarton/Lady Windsor now and get upgraded when Charles becomes King, or if HM will upgrade them now as she did with Charlotte and Louis (allbeit earlier in proceedings).

TwitterQueen1 · 30/04/2019 18:38

Harry would have only been out for a couple of hours I think? No need to stay glued to the baby or Meghan 24x7 really.
