To ask WTH happened to me?

LeukaeLucky · 22/04/2019 09:56

Hi mumsnetters
The weirdest thing happened to me last night and I'm hoping to get some reassurance or guidance on what it could be.
So I'm about to go to bed but realise I have forgotten to take the clothes from the washing machine out.
I'm getting to the kitchen and my legs start feeling really heavy like I'm about to faint. I decide to not take any risk and lie down on the kitchen floor. My whole body feels heavy. I call my oldest daughter (14) to help me stand. I try to get up but I literally feel like I'm weighing 200 tonnes
Even talking feels difficult
She encourages me to sit but my left side feels even heavier than the rest of my body so every time I manage to sit I fall down on my left side. I end up soiling myself and somehow manage to stand and shower. I then go to the toilet and bang my head on the sink my entire body weight seems to be going toward my left
I ended up managing to go to bed with the help of my oldest child but I'm freaking out. What was that? Why couldn't I lift my body up? Shall I see a gp tomorrow?

You need to get medical help ASAP. Can anyone take you to A&E?

Chartreuser · 22/04/2019 09:58

Err a&e to rule out stroke/Tia. Do not wait until tomorrow.

That sounds terrifying

gamerchick · 22/04/2019 09:58

How are you now?

VanessaShanessaJenkins · 22/04/2019 09:58

I'm no expert but that sounds like the symptoms of a stroke. You should have had an ambulance called but since you didn't I'd get to a hospital asap to be thoroughly checked over.

CustardCreamLover · 22/04/2019 09:58

Call 111 or just go straight to A&E!

Cwtches123 · 22/04/2019 09:59

You need to seek urgent medical attention. You should have called 999 last night.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 22/04/2019 09:59

You should definitely see your doctor, but you might be wise to call an ambulance. I’m not a doctor so not going to suggest any possible causes, only that it could potentially be serious, and you should seek medical advice as a matter of urgency.

HomeEdRocks18 · 22/04/2019 09:59

Sounds like a tia or stroke. Get to a and e immediately.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 22/04/2019 09:59

Please go straight to a&e

MaudeLynne · 22/04/2019 10:00

Ambulance straight to hospital, are you still weak now?

threestars · 22/04/2019 10:00

See someone now. Even if you are feeling better. Don’t delay.

WhyCantIThinkOfAGoodOne · 22/04/2019 10:00

Go straight to A&E I also thought stroke or similar. You need medical attention ASAP.

Chocmallows · 22/04/2019 10:00

I would have gone to A&E as would have worried a type of stroke or similar episode. It would be best to check blood pressure and general tests ASAP and talk through your medical history with a clinician.

Can someone take you today?

Quartz2208 · 22/04/2019 10:00

why on earth didnt you call an ambulance then or go straight A&E

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/04/2019 10:02

This sounds serious please go to a and e

RJnomore1 · 22/04/2019 10:02

Do not drive yourself to a and e!

LagunaBubbles · 22/04/2019 10:02

This is mad. Why on earth didn't you phone 999 and why do you think random people on the internet will know better than phoning 999?

ChrisPrattsFace · 22/04/2019 10:02

Why didn’t you get help when it happened?
You need to ring 111 +/- go to A&E!

OoohAyyye · 22/04/2019 10:03

If you feel okay now that doesn't mean you should assume whatever has caused it has gone away. Something will most likely happen again. Please get checked out asap.

DizzyPhillips · 22/04/2019 10:04

How can you not know that weakness on one side could be a stroke?!

AndOutComeTheBoobs · 22/04/2019 10:05

Jesus wept that sounds like a stroke, why didn't you call an ambulance?

You need to be seen!

HemlockStarglimmer · 22/04/2019 10:05

Get seen today ASAP. Do not drive yourself.

LeukaeLucky · 22/04/2019 10:05

I didn't want to scare my daughter more.
I do feel better and I'm only 33 so didn't think a stroke was a possibility.
Thank you
Going to call 111 and check what they say

If I was a 14 year old I would have called an ambulance if that happened to my mum.

Hmmm Hmm

patchisagoodpup · 22/04/2019 10:06

Stroke symptoms as pp. You need to get medical attention quickly.
