To ask WTH happened to me?

Hi mumsnetters
The weirdest thing happened to me last night and I'm hoping to get some reassurance or guidance on what it could be.
So I'm about to go to bed but realise I have forgotten to take the clothes from the washing machine out.
I'm getting to the kitchen and my legs start feeling really heavy like I'm about to faint. I decide to not take any risk and lie down on the kitchen floor. My whole body feels heavy. I call my oldest daughter (14) to help me stand. I try to get up but I literally feel like I'm weighing 200 tonnes
Even talking feels difficult
She encourages me to sit but my left side feels even heavier than the rest of my body so every time I manage to sit I fall down on my left side. I end up soiling myself and somehow manage to stand and shower. I then go to the toilet and bang my head on the sink my entire body weight seems to be going toward my left
I ended up managing to go to bed with the help of my oldest child but I'm freaking out. What was that? Why couldn't I lift my body up? Shall I see a gp tomorrow?
TiA

I’ve just read your post, I am sorry you’ve had these episodes, but glad they’re taking it seriously this time.
I hope your children are ok :)

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 26/04/2019 19:46

Newcomer to your thread. Sorry to hear you've had a repeat episode, will keep my fingers crossed for some answers . Is your DD OK?

AyoadesChinDimple · 26/04/2019 20:00

It is a bitch of a headache. I had it myself recently. You must lay flat as much as you can.

Justgorgeous · 26/04/2019 21:32

Uber ? I stopped reading. Why people use such a dreadful company is beyond me. Get a black cab.

winewolfhowls · 26/04/2019 21:35

Hope you get your answers, get well soon

Jux · 26/04/2019 21:44

Oh dear, Lucky, how worrying. I do hope they get it sorted quickly and you won't have it hanging over you for long.

incogneto · 27/04/2019 02:29

SirVixofVixHall · 27/04/2019 18:34

I hope you get a proper diagnosis and help now op. Flowers

LeukaeLucky · 27/04/2019 21:42

Hi all. Just saw the neurologist / stroke consultant and there's evidence of a mini stroke on the right side of my brain. Apparently it could be linked to the shingles I had a few months ago. I have to do a CT scan and wait for more results from the lumbar puncture (at the moment not showing anything abnormal but they grow the bacteria over a few days to figure out what's going on).
The children are OK looked after by a nanny waiting for me to return. They've had a little visitor (mouse) keeping their minds off me being away as they are too freaked out to worry 😂.
I'm mostly OK just tired and still the headaches (thanks PP for the tip)

hellenbackagen · 27/04/2019 23:07

Aw op your symptoms screamed "stroke" tbh but so glad you're being seen now and taken seriously!

💐

UnPocoLoco2 · 28/04/2019 00:01

Yikes. That sounds like a stroke or maybe a seizure of some kind( especially the soiling bit)

greenpop21 · 28/04/2019 07:51

So glad you are getting to the bottom of this. Wishing you only good health for the future 💐

ContessaIsOnADietDammit · 28/04/2019 08:02

Wishing you the best, op. Glad they have confirmed stroke (it did sound like that from the outset).

Misty9 · 28/04/2019 08:20

I've been following this and thought your original symtoms sounded like stroke (I used to work on a stroke rehab place). Make sure you get the necessary follow up as the cognitive effects might be mild but they can be significant. If you've had a couple of episodes are they thinking TIAs then the stroke? Or could a bigger stroke be yet to come? I hope you've got someone to look after you, as well as the children Flowers the stroke association www.stroke.org.uk are pretty good. Get lots of rest Flowers

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 11:14

Bloody hell @LeukaeLucky. Glad you're in hospital getting answers though. Hope you will be home with answers, a care plan going forward and your children as soon as you can be.

Notwiththeseknees · 28/04/2019 11:25

Nothing to add but get well soon. Thanks

Bluesheep8 · 28/04/2019 11:34

How on earth can a 14 year old not know how to pick up a phone and dial 999? Just how??

Passthecherrycoke · 28/04/2019 11:39

Pretty much been there 10 pages ago bluesheep. How OP is actually on hospital with a diagnosis maybe give it a rest?

Goldmandra · 28/04/2019 12:01

OP, I'm sorry to hear you've had another episode and I'm sorry to see there are still people going on about your DD not calling an ambulance Hmm

Have you mentioned to anyone that you were dismissed without proper investigations on your first visit to A&E? It may be that you were seen by someone who needs some extra training and getting this highlighted now could save a life or two.

I know you've got a lot on your plate right now but please do mention it if you feel able to.
