www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/apr/19/mueller-report-redactions-whats-missing-clues

'The Mueller report contains tantalising details of Trump campaign dealings with Russia and of the president’s possible attempts to obstruct justice. But much of it is blacked out. Nearly 40% of the pages in the document contain at least one redaction, totalling nearly 1,000 in all. In some parts, entire sections have disappeared.'

Run, Joe, Run!!!

I know he's the proverbial 'old white man', but we need a candidate who can appeal to the majority of voters AND has the 'chops' and name recognition factor.

Now, as far as his VP running mate? IDK, the jury's out on that one. To pick a young-ish female (like Kamala) will invite comparisons with 'McCain/Palin' where 'finger pointers' said that she was picked, not on qualifications, but on her sex. But in Palin's case, it was true.

It's so frustrating. If a body had been found in the desert and somebody under suspicion said "OMG, this is terrible. This is the end of my life presidency. I'm fucked" the police would consider that akin to a confession. But for Scrotus, it's barely a blip

lionheart · 21/04/2019 16:26

'Mueller has hewed closely to this original mandate. Unlike prior special counsel’s offices, as matters came to him that pushed the edges of his jurisdiction, he referred them to other Justice Department components. He also referred matters at the end of his investigation that were ongoing. A list of all of the referrals appears in Appendix D of the report, which lists ten transfers of cases begun by the special counsel’s office and an additional 14 “referrals,” which Mueller describes as covering “evidence of potential criminal activity that was outside the scope of the Special Counsel’s jurisdiction.” These referrals are, with the exception of the Michael Cohen campaign finance matters and the Greg Craig Foreign Agents Registration Act matter, all redacted.

Call them children of the Mueller investigation—and keep a close eye on them.'

Anniegetyourgun · 21/04/2019 16:37

I have little doubt that Muller didn't close the investigation because he was good and ready to, but had been under intense pressure from above to finish up quickly or else, pretty much since Day 1 but ramping up since Barr was appointed. It's a wonder the plug wasn't pulled on the investigation long before now, to be honest. Shovelling as much of it out as possible to other agencies while he was still in charge was probably the best chance of anything sticking. That said, there's plenty of material in the report already to justify impeachment or worse, if the will was there.

cozietoesie · 21/04/2019 17:33

Which it doesn't seem to be.

Meant to say, it's from someone who has dissected The Report.

Thanks, Roussette.

They won't. Too many 'ifs' and 'buts'.

cozietoesie · 21/04/2019 18:46

Subject to nothing of moment happening in the interim, of course.
