Booked for tomorrow & now I’m worried.

OP posts:
lizzie1970a · 27/02/2019 11:58

I don't understand the increased sensitivity. The clitoris doesn't have hair on it. The hair on labia around it can be trimmed. No man has ever had a problem getting to mine and I don't see why all the hair would have to be removed to access the most sensitive part of the clitoris. What increased sensitivity does getting all hair removed aid? I've used Veet or similar on the area before and it takes away all the tiny little hairs as well as the pubes and it felt more sensitive as in you could feel your knickers rubbing on the skin but it was uncomfortably odd. Same with the cleanliness line. Trimmed back I understand.

lizzie1970a · 27/02/2019 12:00

Of course, people are only going to say I do it for myself. They're hardly going to say they're doing it for a man. It's the fashion now to not have any pubic hair. You're not making a decision in a bubble.

Lungelady · 27/02/2019 12:02

No don't think I am lying to myself.
Grin
How patronising

Quintella · 27/02/2019 12:08

I don't understand the increased sensitivity.

You don't?

I've used Veet or similar on the area before and it takes away all the tiny little hairs as well as the pubes and it felt more sensitive as in you could feel your knickers rubbing on the skin but it was uncomfortably odd.

Wait, so you do understand?

calsovip · 27/02/2019 12:09

hmm we are all different.

Yeah we're all different. There's also a difference wrt pain if you're using hot wax, soft wax, or a combination of the two too btw.

Nesssie · 27/02/2019 12:10

^ very contradictory post

KrispyKremes · 27/02/2019 12:10

Jeez, why do people get so offended by something that doesn't matter a bit to them.

I've always had sugaring but I love a hollywood. All the painful parts are also covered by a brazilian so hollywood suits me much better.

I get sore every period if I have pubic hair, and I feel cleaner without especially during my period as can wipe clean a lot easier.

Also something so satisfying getting your crack done.

My husband doesn't have a preference either way, he's happy for any and all access. I feel more confident without pubes. I couldn't care less what anyone else does with theirs....wind your necks in.

It wont be as bad as you think OP - neither in pain or embarassement. Xx

sagradafamiliar · 27/02/2019 12:11

I do it because it feels nicer. It doesn't feel nicer to a man because they are not experiencing my sensations. It's definitely for me.
I worked as a beautician for one of my first jobs. I was doing 'back, sack and crack's on men. The majority of men I've slept with remove most of or all their hair. Always on the ballsack as it's more sensitive for them to have no hair their. I'm not convinced personal grooming on the genitalia is a feminist issue (in other areas, yes I can see how it would be).

Nesssie · 27/02/2019 12:11

lizzie1970a I partly do it because it makes me feel more confident and sexy, which benefits my man. Does that mean I'm doing it just for him? No.

sagradafamiliar · 27/02/2019 12:12

There* not their!!

JacquesHammer · 27/02/2019 12:18

Of course, people are only going to say I do it for myself. They're hardly going to say they're doing it for a man

I’m single...

MamaFlintstone · 27/02/2019 12:26

I used to get mine done with Lycon wax and it didn’t really hurt at all. There was no “building up to it” needed. Sporting a full bush at the moment as I can’t be arsed and am skint, but once I’ve got a bit more spare time and disposable income I will probably start again, I’m 35 with noticeably grey pubes and even if no one but my husband sees them, I still don’t like it.

Kenworthington · 27/02/2019 12:28

So, say you had some hideous pipe left over from birthing massive babies several years ago , the pile is going nowhere- how would that work with arse waxing? Asking for a friend

Kenworthington · 27/02/2019 12:28

Pipe - piLe ffs

lizzie1970a · 27/02/2019 12:35

Quintella spectacularly missing the point Grin. The clitoris is not covered in hair. You don't need to get rid of all the hair to access it. Removing all the hair from the pubic mound increases sensitivity of the skin but not in a pleasant or necessary way - the nerve endings you want exposed aren't on the pubic mound - having that exposed increases no sensation. People saying removing all hair increases sensitivity as in nice sensations are deluding themselves. Most of the sensation is from the clitoris being stimulated which doesn't need all the hair removing.

lizzie1970a · 27/02/2019 12:37

What I said isn't contradictory. Hair removal will increase sensitivity of the skin but sensitivity isn't all nice. Your teeth can be sensitive if a nerve is exposed for example. The clitoris is accessible. No talking to thick people though.

lizzie1970a · 27/02/2019 12:40

Nesssie perhaps you need to question your self-esteem why something like that would make you feel more confident and sexy. Again, those thoughts haven't happened in a bubble. You're brainwashed into thinking this is what is sexy as these are the norms now. Sexy is nothing to do with pubic hair.

Quintella · 27/02/2019 12:45

Quintella spectacularly missing the point

No, you're clearly just feeling foolish for having contradicted yourself.

I must say I'm forever baffled by people on MN stating categorically what people can and cannot find sexually enjoyable. So bizarre. Maybe all your sexual enjoyment comes solely from the clitoris but why assume that other people don't enjoy a variety of sensations on other parts of their genitals? Confused

No doubt you'd also be indignant by my saying that oral sex feels much wetter and therefore more enjoyable when there is no pubic hair? Fret not, I have my smelling salts at the ready for you.

sagradafamiliar · 27/02/2019 12:48

Lizzie, it's not the pubic mound, it's the removal of the hair which covers and goes in between the labia. The clitoris itself extends down the same route on the underside. The combination of that general area being stimulated during sex and the skin being free of hair heightening sensitivity, is nice for a lot of women. Why is this so hard to believe?

Mari50 · 27/02/2019 12:52

OP- what to expect from a Hollywood wax? A bit of pain (varies apparently, personally I found it really uncomfortable) and a bald vulva.
What to expect when you start a post about Hollywood waxing- the usual bun fight between those who do and those who don’t.

Good luck OP, take some brufen prior to having it done and make your own decisions about the aesthetics and whether it’s for you. It’s your body.

Quintella · 27/02/2019 12:52

Because people can only find sexual pleasure in the things she says they can find sexual pleasure in. I'd love to hear her thoughts on rimming. A lot of nerve endings in the bumhole.

callmeadoctor · 27/02/2019 12:59

How do they wax the ermmm flappy bits? Do you have to hold it tight/taught?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 27/02/2019 13:13

Good posts, IncrediblySadToo and Quintella. I don't know why posters zoom on to these threads to be irrelevant about hair removal. Nobody but them is stipulating how other people should have their pubic hair. It's pathetic. This thread is about the process of hair removal. If you don't have that done/don't choose that then why is it your right to come onto a thread and lecture those that do? Bodily autonomy is everybody's right, isn't it?

... and those utterly creepy posters (I assume that they're women, sadly) who ponder why "women want to look like children...?". Urgh. That says a huge amount about you. Nobody else, just you and what a strange person you must be.

====
Back on topic... I have all body hair removed and by strip wax. I don't get on with Lycon as the 'picking' drives me mad. Strip wax all the way. Perfectly smooth and the pain isn't bad. I kind of miss it, after a while...

themoomoo · 27/02/2019 13:15

So how often do you have this done? Doesn't it stay bald for like 2 days then be really stubbly till it's long enough to rip out again/

sagradafamiliar · 27/02/2019 13:16

I agree, lying, that those posters are creepy and yet they pop up like clock work on these threads with their 'vulva like a child' faux innocent questions/statements.
