To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

She was probably doing her press rounds at the time. Wink

ItsMEhooray · 21/01/2019 13:16

'Asked what she hoped for from officials, she said: "I think an acknowledgement, not so much any admission of responsibility, but that somebody who would like to talk to me about how difficult this is going to be for me.'

What a drama queen Confused

nannieplum · 21/01/2019 13:17

well i`ll be driving up past the accident spot in a while.... maybe I should stop and sweep up a bit of glass lol! at least the e bay sales are for charity......

Iwantamarshmallow · 21/01/2019 13:18

I didnt watcg this morning today. However some idiot smashed into me and my children about 4 months ago I'm still in pain every day amd so angry. I'd love to be able to get answers as to why it happend. i was hit my a member of the public so i doubt anyone would be intrested in what i have to say but if id been hit by someone in the public eye then yes id be shouting it from the roof tops. Also when we were hit we never saw the man again. This lady opened her newspaper the next day to see that man driving without a seatbelt with no regard for the law. The royal family should be setting an example his behaviour is despicable. I'm not supprised shes angry.

Yabbers · 21/01/2019 13:20

they were saying on tv that the Royals are exempt?

All sorts of organisations don't carry car insurance. They are referred to as "self insuring"

Government vehicles are the same, it's not something specifically for the Royals.

Yabbers · 21/01/2019 13:25

if he was dazzled by the sun he shouldn't have pulled out

This is clearly ridiculous. What was he supposed to do, sit at the junction until sunset?

This happened to me the other day at a roundabout. The only thing I could do was go slowly and hope for the best. Not moving forward was not an option.

Desmondo2016 · 21/01/2019 13:26

Another example of when the rest of the planet are up in arms about something and I genuinely barely give half a shit. It was a minor rtc. You guys are giving this moron the time of day by discussing it!

Poloshot · 21/01/2019 13:30

She's an attention seeker.

Erm

If you can't SEE you don't pull out,
Um.

Hope for the best? Well presumably he has the same attitude as you and a collision was involved with a car carrying 2 women and a baby, the consequences could have been a lot more severe. His car rolled over (he could have been seriously injured or killed) and the two women and baby could have been more seriosuly killed or hurt, as it is one of the women broke her wrist.

You are saying that IF he COULDNT SEE, he still did the right thing? Even given that there was a crash???

Crikey.

JudgeRindersMinder · 21/01/2019 13:55

Is anyone else thinking that the Duchess of Sussex may be thanking her for taking the press heat off her for a few days 😂

ajandjjmum · 21/01/2019 13:59

I think Mrs. May must have paid PP to crash his car!

TwelveThirtyTwo · 21/01/2019 14:03

I really want a pm of Lulu’s story aswell. Please .

JudgeRindersMinder · 21/01/2019 14:07

@ajandjjmum 😂

At the end of the day the DofE also had a terrible accident and we do not know if he sustained any injuries as we haven’t been given any medical information on him or an update.

samphireaidee · 21/01/2019 14:09

to them thats querying the dazzaling sun. there was low sun. it was awful to drive in. i drove that road, past the accident at 3:20pm. the sun was shining prior to that. so emma is lying (or was she looking down at her phone or something?). even witnesses say the sun was low ffs

higgyhog · 21/01/2019 14:12

of course he should not have pulled out. Goodness in his particular case he could have just phoned home and got a ppo to come out and stop the traffic!

derxa · 21/01/2019 14:13

She doesn't give off a good vibe.

Sickoffamilydrama · 21/01/2019 14:13

Just come on here to back up @LuluBellaBlue who when she sees my username will guess who it is Wink
I want to go after her for you after what she put you through, she didn't care that she pushed you to the edge it's down to your strength that I still have you in my life but the story could be very different.

Coppermine · 21/01/2019 14:15

I get that not wearing a seatbelt is breaking the law, however I don't understand why it's such a focus of attention. The only person he is putting at risk by not wearing a seat belt is himself.

Bluelady · 21/01/2019 14:19

@Coppermine, just what I said. And got told he "should set an example", to whom was not made clear.

Imissgmichael · 21/01/2019 14:24

user1457017537 - “At the end of the day the DofE also had a terrible accident and we do not know if he sustained any injuries as we haven’t been given any medical information on him or an update.”

He was caught on video driving the next day and without a seatbelt so it’s doubtful he was injured although not impossible.

Spartasprout · 21/01/2019 14:32

Why didn't I read Lulu's story when it was up??

:(

DGRossetti · 21/01/2019 14:32

I get that not wearing a seatbelt is breaking the law,

Not if the person concerned has a medical exemption. Which should be their private business and not subject to public scrutiny ?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 21/01/2019 14:34

I think the focus on the seatbelt is becasue it seems to indicate a general attitude.

ie the law doesn't apply to him, + doing that 2 days after the crash is a bit of a two fingers up really isnt it

NothingOnTellyAgain · 21/01/2019 14:35

They could have avoided all this

Royal PR machine making nice shutting her up making sure she only talks to insurers police and not press
Making him use a driver FFS they must have millions of them available
