To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

ilovemilton · 21/01/2019 10:52

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

The •sad• pictures in the under-press is having the opposite effect on me to the effect she presumably intended. Bad move.

MorningsEleven · 21/01/2019 12:31

sorry mnhq dont agree with removing lulus post shes not libellng anyone just telling her story of what happened with this womanor is that not allowed

How do you know it's true?

TeacupDrama · 21/01/2019 12:34

apparently you can buy 3 bits of plastic from the crash on ebay for £65,000 according to BBC news site; the mind boggles :- it's for cancer research

IsItThatTimeAgain · 21/01/2019 12:35

Even if the Duke had personally apologised while giving her a bouquet of flowers and a handmade card from the Queen, she would have just used that to bolster the compensation claim that's clearly coming.

BirdieInTheHand · 21/01/2019 12:37

@VanGoghsDog

It seems to me that the police passed on the "like to be remembered to you" message and the palace have been trying to get in touch directly. These two situations can co-exist

I agree but still neither of those approaches are an "exchange of well wishes" which strongly imply a conversation has taken place.

To be clear, I do not expect anyone to apologise, much less the queen or duke to do so personally. I do expect the palace to be honest in their descriptionof what took place and not embellish so as to look better.

StephanieNicks · 21/01/2019 12:40

She would have to be spectacularly stupid to do that on a popular forum that is regularly trawled by the gutted press.

Stupid.
Vindictive.
Or a troll.
Plenty of stupid/vindictive/trolls on this forum.

LuluBellaBlue · 21/01/2019 12:42

Surely if I sold my story that would make me just as bad as her.
Anyone profiting from another’s misfortune. I’ve been in a horrid car accident myself, I broke my back and leg, plus my son was in the car with me at the time just 18 months old, plus my mum. Whilst I would be happy to expose what she’s done, it’s not going to get me my money or best friend back is it?
It would be revenge Envy even if I do secretly want to do it!!

Urwotu8t · 21/01/2019 12:43

Compensation claim - how dare she? She should be proud that she was run off the road by the DoE - some of us would give our eye teeth for that honour...

ajandjjmum · 21/01/2019 12:44

What did she do Lulu - just seen this.

LuluBellaBlue · 21/01/2019 12:46

Sorry meant to say, and that’s where I was going with mentioned my previous car accident..... a mother and her 9 month old son plus a 97 person all had a horrible experience and are trying to cope with it right now, they don’t need another person jumping on their band wagon of pain right now.
Even if I am going to rant on here Wink

LuluBellaBlue · 21/01/2019 12:46

Those asking for a recap..... I can’t or else it will get removed again surely?

ajandjjmum · 21/01/2019 12:47

Well there are those saying that it shouldn't have been removed anyway! Grin

madeyemoodysmum · 21/01/2019 12:49

Yep as soon as I read she had sold story to the mirror with her sad face I lost all sympathy for her. Money grabber!!!!

nannieplum · 21/01/2019 12:51

well if opinion on here and DM comments are anything to go by, Emmas not exactly doing herself any favours anyway! It seems most are seeing straight through her! Im watching her make herself look more ridiculous, plus shes the one wholl be having to walk through town :)

scaryteacher · 21/01/2019 12:52

www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2019/01/21/prince-philip-crash-passenger-broke-wrist-claims-police-havent/ She's evidently out for her 15 minutes of fame.

Nicknacky · 21/01/2019 12:54

It’s not unusual not to have given a statement immediately after an accident, particularly when she has been injured.

It’s got nowt to do with who was driving the other car. They will take a statement in good time.

JoanneMumsnet · 21/01/2019 12:55

Hello,

In case people are wondering about the missing posts on this thread, we decided to err on the side of caution and removed a number of posts as we felt it wasn't really in the spirit of the site for us to host speculation about a named individual. Here's a link to our Talk Guidelines.

We've also deleted a couple of spam posts.

Lulu, we'll be in touch behind the scenes. Flowers

LuckyLou7 · 21/01/2019 13:01

I'm pretty sure if there is anything unsavoury about this woman, it will be soon appear in the papers.

Bluelady · 21/01/2019 13:01

The DM comments are hilarious. She's getting a lot less sympathy there than she is here.

scaryteacher · 21/01/2019 13:04

The DT ones are quite funny too.

rytonsister · 21/01/2019 13:06

First rule of car insurance....DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY! So had she got an apology that would be admitting he was at fault.

That's for the insurance company to argue !

Nicknacky · 21/01/2019 13:11

She wants it both ways. She wants him to be treated like everyone else but she also wants more than what is expected of a crash like this purely on who is is involved.

She has a FLO. This is rare in such a minor accident and Norfolk police have came out and said that she has one because if who is involved. Not to mention they have said that arrangements were made on Friday to take the statement tomorrow and that they had tried to contact her over the weekend with no success.
