To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

ilovemilton · 21/01/2019 10:52

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

Intrigued! Was LuLu driving the car the DofE hit??

Nicknacky · 21/01/2019 22:56

Noooo she wasn’t driving lol

StoneofDestiny · 21/01/2019 22:57

Do tell - pm?

SoCockneyItHurts · 21/01/2019 22:57

Ah ok lol....missed the deleted posts. She just knows the woman on This Morning?

redredrobins · 21/01/2019 22:59

She has suggested the injured passenger may have an interesting history and we are all desperate for the details because MN deleted her posts.

newnameforthis7 · 21/01/2019 23:01

I would also love to see the deleted posts, if anyone can PM them to me. Smile

StoneofDestiny · 21/01/2019 23:02

Mercy me - so we need to try to sleep without knowing 😧

Ucangourownwoo · 21/01/2019 23:03

This is the weirdest thread I've read in a while, if someone feels like explaining via pm I'll be most grateful.. otherwise I'll be trawling the papers like everyone else tomorrow.

bellabasset · 21/01/2019 23:12

I don't understand why she expected any direct contact from PP. He'd been involved I in an accident and was taken home. The details are dealt with by the police. She will probably be making a claim for injuries.

I missed Lulu 's posts so reading between the linesGrin

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 21/01/2019 23:20

Place marking out of sheer nosiness.

IForgotThisEvening · 21/01/2019 23:24

I don’t understand the vitriol for the woman.

If I was a passenger in a car that was hit, and my wrist was broken, I’d want to be compensated too.
I drive for a living so wouldn’t be earning until it had healed. I’d have to take taxis to the school and back from the childminders to take/pick up the dc. Taxis from the supermarket, hospital, kids activities etc
If I was offered money to sell my story, not knowing when I’d be earning again, I’d take it.

LuckyLou7 · 21/01/2019 23:24

Lulu's post at 20.21 is pretty self-explanatory for those gagging for a pm.

YourWinter · 21/01/2019 23:26

Does anyone know what Kia the women were in? The range goes from very small to pretty big cars.

I've always understood anyone involved in a road accident is advised not to apologise as it can be taken as admission of liability, and even in circumstances when it is perfectly clear who was at fault, the respective insurers prefer to deal with it rather than have their clients getting into discussion over fault and blame.

I only saw the short clip on the news, but the woman with the broken wrist isn't exactly someone I'd warm to.

Lulu I missed your early posts. Good luck.

Well yes I’m sure most people would agree with this. And the point is that as the passenger of a vehicle involved in a rta you will get the necessary compensation from whichever party is found to be at fault.

Harebellmeadow · 21/01/2019 23:54

Reading between the lines but k hope Lulu does get some recompense, after all the Fail is going to make money out of this so Lulu should too.

newnameforthis7 · 22/01/2019 00:26

@LuckyLou7

The post by Lulu at 20.18 or whatever may explain everything to you, and everyone else who saw the originals posts before they were deleted, but they don't tell me anything- or anyone else who didn't see them. And I am still none the wiser. Confused

I read it and I still don't know what her deleted posts said.

Celticrose · 22/01/2019 00:34

I was checking out the comments on the This Morning FB page and someone had posted a screenshot of two photos one with her right arm in plaster and the other with her left arm in plaster.. That could not be right could it?

PissOffPeppa · 22/01/2019 00:44

I didn’t see the deleted posts. I can pretty much work out exactly what happened and as it involves a serious subject matter which Lulu has understandably struggled with, it’s not really appropriate for posters to be begging for messages about it to entertain themselves.

Lulu was shocked to see the woman, Emma Fairweather, whose wrist was hurt in the crash because she knew her. The woman apparently scammed Lulu out of a lot of money. Some of us expressed that we hoped a newspaper would pick up on her posts and print them, that has been done with Mumsnet posts before, and hopefully she will be paid for an interview, thus recouping some of the money she lost. We await the outcome.

HelenaDove · 22/01/2019 02:48

Lulu Thanks

TurquoiseDress · 22/01/2019 04:43

YANBU

It does sound like she is milking this for all it's worth

jessstan2 · 22/01/2019 05:06

Yes and it is so silly because compensation and insurance will pay out but first have to establish the facts. I'm pretty sure Prince P will not be driving without insurance! Plus the police told him to stay by his car (that's is the usual, the police and/or insurance sort out details later, drivers aren't supposed to), he did ask if the occupants of the other car were OK - then he had to be checked over in hospital. So what is she moaning about?

I'm far more interested in whether or not Lulu has been approached for more comments. What she went through with that woman is horrible.

Harebellmeadow · 22/01/2019 05:35

There doesnt seem to be anything in the papers this morning yet.

Ladymargarethall · 22/01/2019 06:10

The papers were printed yesterday. If anything is in it would be in later today or later in the week. It is possible there are issues surrounding Lulu's story that make it inadvisable to publish.
