To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

Thank you nicknacky. It has been a hard few weeks. Just bloody bad luck how it all happened and the way he fell. I actually don’t feel any ill will towards the driver and actually hope after the reconstructing of evidence they are doing that he isn’t prosecuted.

Looking forward to hearing what lulu had to say though if it is in the papers tomorrow!

I was involved in a head on collision, I had my 18 month old son and mum in the car. Therefore I can deeply sympathise with the trauma of a car accident.
In fact I fractured my spine in three places, however I didn’t go seeking the other party to apologise or cause any more stress for the parties involved.
Accidents do happen.
I’m glad I’ve spoken out, although I’m equally really scared.
You see, it means I’ve had to talk about the rape trial I was going through at the time. To explain the level of manipulation that happened. So now I’m publically telling everyone about what happened to me but if it stops her hurting more people and this is the best chance I ever have if that, then so be it.

Oh and just to let you all know I’ve not heard back from the agency as to which (if any I guess!) media will release the article

Lulu that sounds awful. Good luck. Like you say, accidents do happen. With my stepdad I know the driver did not go out intending to cause any harm. They weren’t speeding, and no drink or drugs were involved. They may have been careless though. Does not mean we want any compensation.

As this is a horrifying offence that she was allegedly involved with, it is imperative that you get this nailed. You need to seek legal advice. I would suggest speaking with authorities asap. Xx

@mydogisthebest you asked what I thought the Royals should have done and I said I didn't really know but that flowers would have been nice and more appropriate than lady in waiting phoning and messages to "be remembered "

I don't know whether Emma Fairweather would have been satisfied with that ,I suspect she would have preferred that response to the one she got .She may well have still gone ahead and tried to claim compensation .

But her likely response ,which the Royals wouldn't have known about ,doesn't change my answer to what I think the Royals could have done .Just because someone might not be satisfied with a kind gesture doesn't mean one shouldn't be made .

No one would do nice things ,thank people ,express sympathyetc if they assumed the recipient wouldn't be satisfied with it .

No, the man wasn’t convicted unfortunately.
So few are I guess, I knew this but believe that he needed to be stopped so went ahead with the trial anyway.
Meanwhile a certain individual I won’t name was running up my credit card without me knowing.
I’m not sure what was harder to heal from, him not being convicted or my best friend lying and stealing from me....
and to the person saying Prince Philip crashing into the wrong person, thank you that’s made me chuckle
