To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

ilovemilton · 21/01/2019 10:52

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

Surely any apology might have an effect on any criminal proceedings arising from the crash?

MawkishTwaddle · 21/01/2019 18:18

Oh god, I’m pathetically excited. Nice one, Lulu

ilovemilton · 21/01/2019 18:21

Sickoffamilydrama no need to apologise. Totally on Lulu's side!

Please could I have a pm ... am intrigued. Lulu, I hope good will come of this for you.

werideatdawn · 21/01/2019 18:27

Oh my god someone take pity and message me!

ShirleyPhallus · 21/01/2019 18:29

Well this took a turn for the better!

Lulu you should keep the money for the story, at least recoup some costs

redredrobins · 21/01/2019 18:30

I also would love a PM, I am an impatient person Smile

LuckyLou7 · 21/01/2019 18:32

Why is everyone asking for PMs? Don't be so impatient, it will all be revealed in the papers tomorrow. Or maybe even on the news tonight Grin

chillpizza · 21/01/2019 18:33

I’ve got the Bn Bn advert tune stuck in my head for pm pm. Grin just thought I’d share that for someone else’s head.

profpoopsnagle · 21/01/2019 18:39

Argh! I have been atwork and missed it, please could someone PM me too.

Lockheart · 21/01/2019 18:43

Stop asking for PMs, seriously. There’s a reason MNHQ have deleted the posts.

I don’t know what Lulu’s story is (although I can guess the general gist from other posts) but it will likely be in the press come the morning.

againseriously · 21/01/2019 18:45

And while we're loving all this, we read that a baby has died with his mother in a different car crash.

Life is so cruel.

Thank God the 9 nth old in this crash was ok. Can you imagine if Prince Philip killed a child?

Nicknacky · 21/01/2019 18:46

But he didn’t kill a child so let’s keep that emotion out of it.

beanaseireann · 21/01/2019 18:47

May I have a PM please.
Thank you

I'm delighted Lulu, when I read your story earlier I hoped a newspaper would pick it up and now sincerely hope you recoup some of your money.

chillpizza · 21/01/2019 18:52

No problem Hands Grin it’s catchy.

Stop asking people nobody’s getting pmed wait your turn like the rest of mumsnet who weren’t lucky enough so see the posts. I’m sure it will be headline of the daily in the morning.

hippoherostandinghere · 21/01/2019 18:52

Placemarking for the link to the link to the article. What an exciting thread.

Norma27 · 21/01/2019 18:54

My step dad was knocked down and killed on a pedestrian crossing last month. I wouldn’t expect a sorry from the driver yet as they are waiting to hear if they are to be prosecuted. I’m sure they have been advised not to say sorry yet by their legal representation. I know they are sorry tho and deeply upset by what happened.
Even if they are prosecuted and guilty, we will not be trying to claim any compensation. We obviously wish he had a broken wrist instead though.

Greensleeves · 21/01/2019 18:55

Can someone PM me what I've missed? Dying of curiosity here!

againseriously · 21/01/2019 18:56

Pure chance though. The obvious severity of the crash makes one wonder how the hell worse injuries weren't incurred.

The fact that they weren't does not excuse the severity and the possibility of them.

Purely chance.

Ucangourownwoo · 21/01/2019 18:57

Gutted i missed this!

Nicknacky · 21/01/2019 18:59

norma I’m so sorry for your loss.

LiftedHigh · 21/01/2019 19:01

Bear not at all subtle placemark, sorry not sorry

Sickoffamilydrama · 21/01/2019 19:02

Grrr made the mistake of watching the This Morning interview.
Which I knew I shouldn't as i knew it would make me angry and really the focus should be on Lulu and how she feels.
Just the fall of Emma...she hasn't had any support...oh my heart bleeds.
Ok rant over...carry on all Angry.

I really hope that something comes of this and they relook at prosecuting her for what she did!
