Why is there always someone willing to stick up for behaviour that now seems common place all over the world and is always directed towards the vulnerable in our society.
I can't see anything menacing or intimidating in an elderly man, playing some music. What I do find pretty scary is that instead of walking away or attempting to engage with them, the students decided to surround them and jeer. That one boy, silent with a rather unpleasant sneer on his face - everyone has seen that look a thousand times and it is only ever from someone who thinks they're better, superior... that the person it's directed at is stupid, 'other'.
I guess without watching the full two hours, I may be missing something hugely pertinent to explain why it's ok and totally acceptable for high school students to act that way... but personally, I think the two minute snippet shows the attitude of those students very clearly. They are better than those stupid old men, banging their stupid drums and singing stupid songs... inexcusable.
