Re the NYT article and the possibility that the Dems are going to add to the border budget, I wish that the Dems could hold out, but they know that Scrotus will never blink. He doesn't care about anything but 'winning' and the shutdown does not affect him personally in any way and you can't 'win' against someone like that. He would gladly have let the Fed Workers starve, and our Country's public services go to wrack and ruin rather than 'cave'. The Dems do care, and so they are the only ones in this standoff who would feel they have something to gain by compromising.

Apparently it's a private Catholic Kentucky school.

About Covington - it's a private school, so I imagine their parents will have educated them to behave this way - apparently, their chaperones saw no shame in participating in the intimidation themselves. The school has gone "off air" now, despite media, apart from Twitter, not seeming to have picked the story up yet.

Apparently the school issued a short statement saying they would be investigating the incident and then went into social media "lock-down". Their answer machine is either full or switched off and I'm not sure emails are getting through. I, along with many others, have tweeted the Pope @Pontiflex to point out their un-Christian behaviour
(I'm a lapsed Catholic so this kind of thing fills me with even more rage than usual.)

I am just aghast at those students - the smug look on that boys face. I just cannot ever imagine feeling that emboldened, that convinced I am superior and intimidate an elderly man like that.. even now when I am closer to them than the student. The mind boggles and is also scared as to where this seems to be going...
