I work with academics, outside of their subject area they are generally pretty dim
I really take objection to this horrible generalisation. I'm married to an academic, lots of our friends are academics and I can't think of any of them who I would describe as dim.

Perhaps you need to look at your own understanding of things.

Im so stunned that people think we don't need academics and their research. I take it the person who objected to spending money on academic grants will be happy to die of cancer or some other horrible disease that we could prevent with enough research.

Sadly, I'm not at all surprised. Experts and their opinions are disregarded and ignored, as the vote showed.

I'm not surprised, either. There's so much ignorance - people have really made me think we should never have another referendum.
