We were given the peoples vote with a choice of -

Deal
No deal
Remain

I’m Remain

Remain.

I can only hope the people who are saying 'no deal' don't understand the issues rather than ignoring them. Confused

MissionItsPossible · 17/01/2019 04:19

No deal

girlandboy · 17/01/2019 08:56

ErrolTheDragon wanting a no deal doesn't mean I don't understand the issues nor am I ignoring them.
How very pompous of you.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/01/2019 09:26

"wanting a no deal doesn't mean I don't understand the issues "

Actually it rather does.

icannotremember · 17/01/2019 10:02

wanting a no deal doesn't mean I don't understand the issues

If that's so, then you must have decided the negative effects of no deal are worth it, which is a position many of us will find less worthy of respect than simply not understanding them.

Hellohah · 17/01/2019 10:03

No deal

DarienGap · 17/01/2019 10:07

No deal.
TMs deal is dead and that would only leave Remain. So no deal.

Sirzy · 17/01/2019 10:08

I was remain initially although slightly unsure. Now I would be a firm remain.

Fatasfook · 17/01/2019 10:10

I think the mainstream media in this country have done a brilliant job at manipulating the population into thinking its a great idea to jump off a cliff. Quite scary how we are controlled

OP posts:
Boom76 · 17/01/2019 10:12

No deal

Stringofpearls · 17/01/2019 10:13

Remain

HateIsNotGood · 17/01/2019 10:14

The 2 questions I would suggest:

WA
No to WA

DarienGap · 17/01/2019 10:14

How do you reach that conclusion?
As the whole Remain campaign was built on 'if you vote to leave x, y, and z will happen.' It was extremely negative.
As Susan Jeffers said 'Feel the fear and do it anyway.' No deal.

ClanoftheCaveBear · 17/01/2019 10:15

Remain

DustyMaiden · 17/01/2019 10:15

Remain as always. My integrity says we should leave because it was a democratic vote but I’m not a lemming.

Elfinablender · 17/01/2019 10:19

which is a position many of us will find less worthy of respect than simply not understanding them

I'm not sure of the value of respect in the debate over Brexit. It seems to me that there is such a gulf between those who would remain and those who want to leave that the idea that the opposition doesn't have an iota of compassion for your view is already taken as a given.

badlydrawnperson · 17/01/2019 11:37

"wanting a no deal doesn't mean I don't understand the issues "

Actually it rather does.

Pompous and dismissive as ever - and then you wonder how Leave won (oh, no you don't - you tell yourself leave won because everyone who voted leave was stupid and swallowed a pile of lies).

Keep it up, if it makes you happy.

icannotremember · 17/01/2019 12:13

the idea that the opposition doesn't have an iota of compassion for your view

Hmm, I've had to think about this a bit.

I think if you fall into the 'leave, but obviously we need a deal as No Deal Brexit is unthinkable and would cause far too much suffering to be worth it' you are someone I disagree with passionately on the remain/ leave question, but can respect. If you are someone in the 'leave with No Deal, there won't be any problems, all will be hunky dory' bracket I actually feel sorry for you when I am not feeling angry about the impact your ignorance will have on all of us- although I feel angrier with those who have lied to you. If you are someone who is 'No Deal and I understand the suffering it will cause and wish to proceed anyway'- no, I don't respect or have compassion for your viewpoint in any way.

Elfinablender · 17/01/2019 12:56

Ok, I see you position. I'm a remainder by the way - I know you were using the hypothetical 'you', but just FYI.

But, all I am saying is that it's gone beyond - I respect a & b although not c because c isn't listening and doesn't give a shit about what you think of them. C expects you to treat them with contempt and uses that contempt as a tool to demonstrate that you were never reasonable or open to discussion in the first place. The hate validates the position. And then you end up with a slagging match and no discussion.

Elfinablender · 17/01/2019 12:57

Remainder Grin actually that is probably painfully accurate.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/01/2019 13:16

"and then you wonder how Leave won "

Leave won because of the attitudes of people on the internet? I mean, I know the reason are poor but this takes the biscuit.

"You tell yourself leave won because everyone who voted leave was stupid and swallowed a pile of lies)."

Except Dominic Cummings has actually said that the main focus of the campaign was on the £350 million, and Turkey joining. This is how they targeted the people who had not voted in elections before.

So yeah, what swung you the majority, did swallow of pile of lies.

I know its inconvenient for you to admit, but its true.

icannotremember · 17/01/2019 14:47

@Elfinablender oh totally agreed, c isn't listening and doesn't give a shit (although c will quite often complain that they aren't being sufficiently respected!)

bellinisurge · 17/01/2019 15:02

Remain.
No Deal is absolutely catastrophic and shouldn't even be an option. I accept the WA over No Deal.

Fatasfook · 17/01/2019 18:40

I would love to hear the reasons why some of you think no deal is the best option?
