Does anyone else have 'the chair' in their bedroom?

You know, the chair? The chair where worn but not ready to go in the wash clothes go because it feels weird hanging them back up if they're not clean?

Then the pile of clothes gets so big you can no longer see the chair. Then when you crack and de-clothe the chair you find things you'd totally forgotten about?

Or is this just me? Am I the only slovenly one?

I also now needto sit on the chair to put my jeans on, having become a lady of a certain age.

Pernickity1 · 07/01/2019 23:30

Haha! “The chair” is the bane of my bedroom!

2019willbegreat · 07/01/2019 23:33

I have an exercise bike which I use for this purpose as I was fed up moving everything off the chair to dry my hair then move it all back onto it again. The bike is better as you can hang stuff on it.

Donkdonkgoo · 07/01/2019 23:33

no arms short legs.... is my sex chair 😊
Doesn't anyone else's have a dual purpose? Come on admit it

2018SoFarSoGreat · 07/01/2019 23:38

I'll see you your chair and raise you one fabulous mini cot. 4 glorious slatted sides to hang things from, drape them over, and when they fall hopefully it is into the copious space which might sometimes be filled by a small child

Small child visiting regularly does mean that it is only ever temporarily 'decorated' with such lack of care.

DP has a chair in our room, and I give him and it the evil eye should he dare to hang a shirt across the back. At least I keep my Cotdrobe in my own dressing room :)

BigFatBloomers · 07/01/2019 23:58

Yes to the Chair.
Yes to Lloyd Loom
And yes to clearing it when needing to make up a full wash Smile

MsLucyLastic · 07/01/2019 23:59

@BarbaraofSevillle me too! I actually have just had a new bedroom chair for erm, nocturnal purposes Blush

I was reading this thinking "shit, I better not cover it up with clothes all the time" Grin

Top of my laundry basket for me! For my husband it’s the bannister, back of the sofa, bathroom windowsill, everywhere really! Hmm

ohtheholidays · 08/01/2019 00:01

Yes when I was 18 and was no longer living with my parents.

But the bedroom ended up looking like a tip,so once I'd moved and had my DC I got rid of the chair.

MsLucyLastic · 08/01/2019 00:01

@NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade Ahem, clearly not!

MotherTruckerHere · 08/01/2019 00:01

No chair. A fully-laden cross trainer though

CowesTwo · 08/01/2019 00:05

I have the top of the blanket box and the top of a chest of drawers. Can’t get into blanket box to get fresh bed linen for bedding change without great difficulty, pile of clothes sliding off when opening box lid, trying to squeeze duvet cover etc through narrow opening, cursing and swearing- and sweating. Have also progressed to door hooks too. I need a houserobe.

Yulebealrite · 08/01/2019 00:08

I have its poor relation. The stool.

payperview · 08/01/2019 00:16

I have a floor-drobe. Blush

FuckYouRichardParker · 08/01/2019 00:19

I cleared my Chair yesterday and found 2 pairs of shorts from the summer. Should probably wash them before this summer.

Nothininmenoggin · 08/01/2019 00:50

Another bedroom chair owner here. It starts off ok with a cushion on it then it turns into a mini wardrobe. I have a clear up once a month so the cushion get to see the light of daySmile

macmacaroon · 08/01/2019 00:50

I have a floordrobe for my Pile.

AbitOfaCrummyMummy · 08/01/2019 01:01

Thank God I am normal! I thought I was a slob....yes to the chair also thought this was going to be a sex chair from the title

Loveweekends10 · 08/01/2019 01:02

I have a chair and my dh also has a chair!

SpringIntoSpring · 08/01/2019 01:06

We have the top of the chest of drawers. Sometimes there are more clothes on top of it than there are in it! We also have an exercise bike shaped dressing gown hanger. The curtain pole makes a good hanging rail as well.

Bowerbird5 · 08/01/2019 01:15

I have my dad’s old trunk he used to take to sea on his ship. It has several things on it at the moment. I keep my boots in it.

PositivelyPERF · 08/01/2019 01:22

I’ve found my tribe. 🥰

Hollyhobbi · 08/01/2019 01:29

I'm an end of the bed user here. Big kingsize bed with only me in it and the cat, occasionally. She's not a large cat but she manages to take up a lot of the bed and sleep on the clothes pile at the same time!

Sgtmajormummy · 08/01/2019 01:33

I used to have The Chair and clothes stayed on it so long the lower layers were starting to fossilize...

Now I have the Hat Stand with a nice assortment of wooden hangers. Work clothes go on there for a second day, plus dressing gown and scarves, necklaces etc.
DH however has The Trouser Press, The Door Hooks, The Wardrobe Handles, The Bathroom Rack, The Coat Hooks and most of The Shoe Cupboard.
Gahhhhhh!
