To ask what you do that annoys your other half?

We see a lot of threads about what the partners do that grind our gears so I thought maybe some of us could own up to the things we know we do! No one is perfect after all

I'll start... Mine is baths. I can sit in the bath for well over an hour which often leaves OH bursting for the loo or waiting for a wash himself. I'll admit, it's pretty selfish when he's come in from a day at the workshop very grubby and needing a clean. I don't even notice the time go, I just love relaxing in there!

I'm in the bath right now! And I stay here for well over an hour. Much to hubby's disgust

I don’t replace the toilet roll, or worst still, I leave 1 sheet on the roll

I fling the cutlery into the cutlery drawer with gay abandon. I genuinely don't care which section it lands in.

This infuriates DH who has a system. In my defence, the system is so complicated that I get bored halfway through his explanations and forget it.

Also in the bath 😂

DP gets annoyed that I don't take the foil thing away completely from the butter- just peel it back each time. Can't see the issue myself!

I have this habit of always scraping the fork on my teeth when I eat.

DH would happily take that fork and stab me in the eye when I do that (joke, obviously)

I never close cupboard doors!

I apologise all the time. It's hard wired thanks to my less than ideal mother and it boils his head.

talking to him when he is marking class or exam papers, most of the time hes ok and uses me going into the kitchen (he marks at the table) but occasionally his eyes roll and he gives me the look, so i scedaddle out pretty quickly

I switch off at random times
Use idioms
Believe that a house only needs to be clean enough to be healthy but dirty enough to be happy

And probably loads more people

I walk into the same inanimate objects (sofa, table etc) over and over and over again. I drive myself mad doing it, I'm sure it irritates DH but he just makes a joke of it. In my defense I have one eye that can't see so well and the opposite ear can't hear so well, I blame this for throwing my balance off!

I'm sure there are more

We can be having a serious discussion (like today, in the car about Xmas) and I'll suddenly say "look! There's a dog in a Christmas hat" (there was!) and we both end up distracted.

My work here is done.

I'm very sarcastic when annoyed. He doesn't get sarcasm really and he hates it as he finds it simultaneously a bit confusing and nasty. I'm trying really hard to stop it.

I’m so so untidy, I don’t understand his system for doing the washing, I don’t listen, I leave my toothbrush on the side of the sink. There’s lots more.

Argue with him logically.
He's a massive conspiracy theorist on everything. Everything.
Sometimes I just cant help arguing the absolute toss with his bullshit.
Cue him slowly backing out of the room calling me a sheeple and we both know I won the point. Pillock.

I clean rather then tidy. It gets annoyed at me for cleaning the kitchen and bathroom most days rather than clearing away all the general clutter in the house.

I use Caps Lock instead of Shift. (I do it because using Shift means that I have to stretch my fingers and that dramatically slows down my typing. If I use Caps Lock. If I use Caps Lock, I can type lightning fast.)

I wash up stuff when he's cooking. He'll look away and poof the spoon/knife/whatever is on the draining board.

He usually kicks me out the kitchen

Swearing 😳 bit of a potty mouth. Especially when annoyed

I switch off when he talks about work for more that a minute 2 minutes.

He says I answer him a bit sharply sometimes but I think he's pretty oversensitive! Eg:

Me: what does "X" mean? (Need quick answer for email I'm writing)
Him: hmm, well, it depends on the context. What's the exact sentence with complete context? Hmm, well, let me see... it really depends so I suppose...
Me: don't worry, it doesn't matter (realising looking in the dictionary will be quicker)
Him: (in a huff for an hour about how dismissive and snappy I am to him)

On a totally unrelated note, he finds me rather impatient!

I never answer a yes or no question with just a simple yes or no !
