To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

Oh ffs. At least he turned up and honoured the fallen. Is that really all you can come up with to Corbyn bash today?

BlueBug45 · 11/11/2018 22:12
Grin

I was having a go when I saw that. He's Michael Foot Mark 2.

EmbraRocks · 11/11/2018 22:12

He's a Muppet and l do actually believe that was a form of teenage angsty-esque 'sticking it to the man' he's a fanny.

MsTSwift · 11/11/2018 22:13

Agree embra. He looked ridiculous

Whatsforu · 11/11/2018 22:14

I thought exactly the same. He looked totally wrong in that awful raincoat!!!

cheezy · 11/11/2018 22:16

Agreed I thought it looked deliberate. It had to be considering how much flack he’s had for this sort of thing in the past.

purits · 11/11/2018 22:16

He was also wearing the smallest poppy he could find.

CoughLaughFart · 11/11/2018 22:16

Anyone who thinks what he was wearing was more important than him actually being there is an idiot.

doodlejump1980 · 11/11/2018 22:17

At least he sang the national anthem... 🤨

Patroclus · 11/11/2018 22:17

Yep, the bigger the poppy the more you care.

FantastikRik · 11/11/2018 22:18

Blimey. Yes, YABU.

whatsthestory123 · 11/11/2018 22:18

i cannot get heated about it,he was there i would see that as more important

some people just love to find fault

did you not get annoyed that Prince Philip didnt attend?

Bowchicawowow · 11/11/2018 22:19

He looked fine to me.

JaiNotJay · 11/11/2018 22:19

I was looking at him, thinking "surely it's a black coat that just looks navy in the sunlight" but nope. Poor show.

AW1992 · 11/11/2018 22:20

I saw it. It did remind me of Michael Foot but at a Parade today I saw Cadets from more than one organisation wearing similar waterproof jackets so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. I am no Corbyn fan but I can't get excited about this. Foot in his donkey jacket was far worse in my opinion.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 11/11/2018 22:20

I’m just glad that a man is finally being held up as not meeting style standards when it’s totally normal for a woman to be pasted for wearing something “inappropriate”, where her male equivalents get a by-ball.

flossietoot · 11/11/2018 22:22

Don’t see the issue. It isn’t meant to be a fashion parade. And the thousands of squaddies in the army certainly don’t come from families who all have expensive black wool smart coats, and will likely relate much more to Jeremy in his anorak than Theresa in her no doubt hundreds of pounds Italian posh coat. Get a grip.

Wellonlyifihaveto · 11/11/2018 22:22

He’s got form for this though, hardly surprising

Sitwhereyoulike · 11/11/2018 22:23

He looked like he was about to embark on a shopping trip down to Tesco's or go off fishing.

I couldn't make up my mind which of those it was.

For such an important event, he was an embarrassment. He looked disgraceful; his overcoat wasn't even black apart from the hood and he never even has the decency to wear a black tie.

popcornwizard · 11/11/2018 22:23

He was there, he looked like a petulant teenager, I can't believe that he doesn't have a decent coat. And Prince Philip is always impeccably turned out - you're being ridiculous comparing an anorak with a 97 year old gentleman.

But thats not why its being brought up is it Penny? its because there isnt some fringe labour lunatic ging on about 'zionists' to report on. I dont even like the man but the right policing remembrance day are 1000 times scummier.

eddiemairswife · 11/11/2018 22:24

I just knew that someone would complain about his coat. How small-minded some people are.

Bluelady · 11/11/2018 22:24

Oh Christ, you sound just like my bigoted husband, OP.

Lwmommy · 11/11/2018 22:24

Oh for fucks sake.

It was rainy today so he wore a waterproof coat to an outdoor event.

He.attended the rememberence sunday service and participated. I have seen loads of people on twitter, facebook and now MN who didn't do any bloody thing, no poppy, no service, no minutes silence or quiet reflection, nothing st all.

But they criticise a.man who did.

Also he had a metal poppy pin, arguably something more lasting than the paper badges.

Im not a big fan of Corbyn but this criticism for.wearing a.waterproof coat in the rain is just fucking ridiculous and so petty.
