To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

I’m really much more interested in the various things Corbyn has had to say about looking after veterans, and his commitment to peace. Tony Blair on the other hand... I felt sick to my stomach seeing him there. Fucking animal he is. I can only hope there comes a day when he will be charged with war crimes. Nice coat and big poppy though!

LaurieFairyCake · 11/11/2018 22:54

He's wearing a black suit underneath

I could honestly weep at the idea that people think the arms dealers in our government are more respectful to the dead because they wore a black coat

It's literally insane that anyone thinks this

(And I don't vote Labour usually)

GhostofFrankGrimes · 11/11/2018 22:55

helps explain why this country is in such a mess when faux outrage is generated over a fucking coat.

OrdinarySnowflake · 11/11/2018 22:56

I noticed the coat too. I don't really care, but I noticed it looked scruffy, he stood out.

I don't remember any other leader of a major party's clothing standing out as noticable on Rememberance Day before.

I'm trying to work out if it's deliberate, and he chose to make a political statement via his clothing on such an important occasion - or it's not and he just doesn't have anyone advising him about stuff like what to wear on state occasions.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 11/11/2018 22:56

Corbyn does not believe in honouring our dead soldiers, He believes they were the aggressors.

His anorak/irreverence is a silent protest against attending a memorial that he doesn't agree with. He is only there, under duress, because he accidentally became Labour leader and he no longer has any choice in the matter.

I thought everyone knew that?

CruCru · 11/11/2018 22:56

I’m not a fan of Jeremy Corbyn. However I’ve just googled the pictures of him and couldn’t see anything wrong with his coat. It was a sensible choice for a rainy day.

NotACleverName · 11/11/2018 22:56

And btw, some of you in this thread also need to get a grip. Or log off.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 11/11/2018 22:56

So not wearing a black coat is disrespectful, but laying a wreath, whilst being a lying two faced war criminal is fine cos your coat is black and smart.

CoachBombay · 11/11/2018 22:56

The man is inherently "scruffy" always has been always will be. Think you just have to accept it to be honest OP.

everythingisginandroses · 11/11/2018 22:56

Get your smartphone to write you a decent thread next time, OP. What rubbish.

purits · 11/11/2018 22:56

To still be stewing on this after eleven hours is beyond pathetic.
I think you will find that people have been stewing on this matter for a hundred years. Corbyn had a hundred years of precedence to know what was suitable attire and deliberately chose to do something else.

ChipsNSauce · 11/11/2018 22:56

I think it is far more disrespectful to turn up at a remembrance service when you have taken the country into illegal wars and caused more deaths.

I also think it's disrespectful to stand there knowing that you are dealing arms that are causing more deaths every single day.

Corbyn could have turned up in a bloody clown suit and still not be the most disrespectful out of that sorry bunch.

May and Blair have a cheek to even be there.

belfastbosoms · 11/11/2018 22:57

Evilspirit yes I should hide it. However, it's helping me understand why this country is in the state it's in right now. That people focus on something so utterly insignificant. I can't wait to see the Daily Fail headline about this tomorrow.

maxthemartian · 11/11/2018 22:57

Corbyn does not believe in honouring our dead soldiers, He believes they were the aggressors.

I doubt that. I'm sure, like most sensible people, he thinks that the powers that be of the day were the aggressors and the millions of men sent off to die as cannon fodder on both sides were the victims.

Lunde · 11/11/2018 22:58

So he wore a dark raincoat - is this really the thing that people get excited about? The Royals have worn a multitude of different colours (including blue raincoats) to these events but that is OK and not disrespectful because they are posh.

So here we have it according to MN

Princess Anne's blue raincoat is perfectly fine

Jeremy Corbyn's is an act of disrespect

To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

Vinorosso74 · 11/11/2018 22:58

FFS it was hammering it down with rain this morning so sensible attire to my mind. It was dark not a bright yellow thing.
PS. Are you my mother?

BunsOfAnarchy · 11/11/2018 22:59

This is a fucking joke. Its bad enough the daily fail are chatting about this same ridiculous shit.

Its not a fashion show.
Get a grip.

MissEliza · 11/11/2018 22:59

He believes they were the aggressors Ok I'm a Tory Shock but even I can't believe he'd think that. What's your evidence?

Bunnybooboo · 11/11/2018 22:59

He was also wearing the smallest poppy he could find.

Hilarious! A pin that a lot of people wear these days, as it tends to not fall off compared to the traditional paper ones.

I’m not all a Corbyn supporter, however even I can see that this is just a ridiculous argument.

Poloshot · 11/11/2018 22:59

Looks homeless most of the time.

popcornwizard · 11/11/2018 23:01

Oh for the love of fuck, get a grip, OP. A big one. To still be stewing on this after eleven hours is beyond pathetic.

Oh fgs, I'm 'cross' that he didn't make more of an effort, I saw it again on the news, don't worry I haven't been stewing about it all say.

And to reassure those questioning the autocorrect on my phone, the news that I watched wasn't in real time, so don't get in a pedantic tizzy about the televised news bulletin timings.

I meant the fact that the OP is still stewing about the colour of Corbyn’s coat after eleven hours, but okay.

Carry on with your faux outrage if it makes you feel better, I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Wednesdaypig · 11/11/2018 23:01

Love the 'Rochdale Herald' link.
Corbyn said 'I didn't CHOOSE the anorak I got it out of a skip on the way to the wreath laying' Grin

Evilspiritgin · 11/11/2018 23:02

Strange that Theresa May has been singled out for selling arms when its being going on for years even Germany is getting in on the act

flossietoot · 11/11/2018 23:02

Maxmartin- exactly my thoughts. From ordinary families who won’t have given Jeremy’s jacket a second thought.
