To target a politician’s children is UNREASONABLE!

Just that. Not a fan of Rees-Mogg but no child should EVER be targeted so horribly anywhere, let alone on their doorstep. I am just so shocked that anyone thinks this is ok.

Just watched video and first thought was there was three adults why didn’t one of them take kids inside.
Rees Mogg was smiling!

PolkerrisBeach · 13/09/2018 07:32

Despicable. But what can you expect from a bunch of people calling themselves "Class War" and describing themselves as anarchists.

""Your daddy is a totally horrible person," "Lots of people don't like your daddy, you know that?"

Bunch of nasty bullies. What is WRONG with some people?

CherryPavlova · 13/09/2018 07:36

I think it was a deliberate political ploy by JRM. I think he used his children for his own selfish ends. Why would he not have sent them back inside or not taken hem into an affray in the first place?

But yes, the children are innocent and should not be used as pawns in any relationship. Definitely wrong to harangue them.

SoupDragon · 13/09/2018 07:45

Rees Mogg was smiling!

He does that when they insult him on HIGNFY though.

Girlsnightin · 13/09/2018 07:58

I think it's awful to do that and the posters on here that say it's justifiable are just as bad.
Posh kids have feelings too!

littlebillie · 13/09/2018 07:58

There is a odd moral compass on here, I note that all left supporters have a short and selective memory when it comes to fairness and moral behaviour.

These are children and we are Mums I think the stance on this is disturbing YANBU

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 13/09/2018 08:08

The children should not have been targeted

The children should not have been put in that position by their parents

And they should have been removed by their parents when It started

Jeanclaudejackety · 13/09/2018 08:11

Hopefully one day his kids will realise what a horrible evil twunt their dad is and run far away from that awful family and upbringing, doubt it though, the circles they move in will basically be an echo chamber

Jeanclaudejackety · 13/09/2018 08:13

Man if quality hahahaha every day I thank my lucky stars I don't live in those awful parts of the country where people like him and his family exist, Northern devolution please!!

BMW6 · 13/09/2018 08:15

Well he did absolutely NO favours for his cause with that exhibition did he, the twat.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 13/09/2018 08:16

Why did the fruitloop say that he thought the kids wouldn't be in London?

I spotted a very distinctive school uniform on 2 of the children that would indicate that during the school term those children would definitely be in London.

He really seems to loathe the children of people who have money/those who go to private school.

I wonder what makes his life so perfect that he judges other's?

Someone upthread said that he's not worked since university - he is just like the SW student politics I remember the whole 'eat the rich! mentality - they never actually did anything for the students I knew who had nothing and scraped by, just yelled at the kids whose parents had money.

YeTalkShiteHen · 13/09/2018 08:18

All? Bullshit. I’d consider myself left, and have repeatedly stated on here that what happened to those children was awful, and that you cannot defend the children Rees-Mogg himself and his cronies have pushed into poverty and worse by attacking privileged children.

MissionItsPossible · 13/09/2018 08:18

What personal insight do you have of how they are being brought up to make a bold statement such as that?

Beaverhausen · 13/09/2018 08:18

Wow some of the comments on here and you call yourselves parents! Just wow!

JacquesHammer · 13/09/2018 08:20

I hate to tell you but we DO have MPs like JR-M in the north. We also have their children who are equally targeted which is abhorrent.

Jeanclaudejackety · 13/09/2018 08:24

Mission I think bringing kids up with his mentality toward the poor, disabled, abortion etc is akin to abusive tbh and is doing his kids absolutely no favours

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 13/09/2018 08:26

"There is a odd moral compass on here, I note that all left supporters have a short and selective memory when it comes to fairness and moral behaviour"

Hmm There's certainly an inability to read posts on here.

longwayoff · 13/09/2018 08:44

Cant abide Rees Mogg and his politics but have just heard the interchange on radio. Shocking, what an absolute pig to target children in that way.

GerdaLovesLili · 13/09/2018 09:13

YANBU.

Kinder politics my arse.

MissionItsPossible · 13/09/2018 09:15

@Jeanclaudejackety

So just to be clear, you’re calling JRM abusive towards his own children?

birdsdestiny · 13/09/2018 09:34

They seem to think he is abusive to his children because he holds different views on abortion to the poster! I am as pro choice as it's possible to be, but that view frightens me more than any anti abortion viewpoint.

raisedbyguineapigs · 13/09/2018 09:40

jeanclaude Are you saying that all strict Catholics are abusive to their children?

LongWeek · 13/09/2018 11:04

@rufustheyawningreindeer you saud ‘the Children shouldn’t have been put in that position by their parents’

What- the position of being the children of an MP?
Did you read my earlier post? My kids are not allowed to answer the phone or open the front door at home because we don’t know who will be there. We don’t know if there will be people shouting abuse. DH is an MP.

Many MPs this week received emails that threatened to torture & kill their children.

This incident was filmed, that’s why you’ve heard about it. Kids of MPs have to put up with stuff all the time. People at school (including teachers) making comments about them & their parents. People calling them names.

Let’s wonder why lots of very successful politicians don’t have children. Maybe because some don’t push themselves forward to more public roles as they are actively aware of how much the abuse for their families will increase. From the ‘normal’ amount.

MetalMidget · 13/09/2018 11:14

Him, I couldn’t give a shiny shite if he was harangued and bollocked every waking second of his day. He’s disgusting.

His children, however priveleged and financially lucky, should never, ever be a target.

Nobody is condoning the evil of austerity and the very real damage, depression, hardship, even, tragically, deaths because of the brutality of the Tory regime. But imo anyone who attacks a child, be it physically or verbally loses any moral high ground they ever had.

They’re children ffs. They never asked to have that horror as a father.

^This!

Although it again highlights what a despicable shit Rees-Mogg is, that he'd happily expose his kids to that for political gain instead of keeping them safe inside.

10degreestostarboard · 13/09/2018 11:21

Can you imagine the bowls of outrage from rags like the independent and guardian if this had been a right wing protester on a left wing politician?

This was disgusting and that horrendous old man should be locked up
