To target a politician’s children is UNREASONABLE!

Just that. Not a fan of Rees-Mogg but no child should EVER be targeted so horribly anywhere, let alone on their doorstep. I am just so shocked that anyone thinks this is ok.

Come on spider get your silly insults right .JRM isnt an upper class toss pot,hes a trade toss pot.Wink

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 12/09/2018 17:22

Hey, I don't for a second think anyone should target politicians children. That would make me a twat Hmm

I just won't be losing much sleep over it when those children were put in that position by their own parents who stood there arguing back with him instead of doing their job as parents. What the hell would they have done if he'd started waving a gun around ?? Confused

My sympathy goes to the kids suffering poor mental health as the result of poverty, the ones trying to study for exams whilst living in one room with their whole family, the ones living in areas with soaring crime rates due to police cuts. Etc etc etc.

YeTalkShiteHen · 12/09/2018 17:23

No matter what you think of the MP or their policies, involving their kids is shit

Absolutely. I’m so sorry you’ve been affected by such awful behaviour longweek Flowers

Bluelady · 12/09/2018 17:23

Yeah right, bridgetoc. 😂

Xiaoxiong · 12/09/2018 17:27

Let's not make this a partisan issue. No politician's children should be harassed, threatened or harmed, no matter what their policies. Politicians are doing a job, and whether you think they're doing it well or badly, their kids should be off limits.

I remember growing up the awful, mean stuff in the US press about poor old Chelsea Clinton when she was just a little kid making fun of her appearance.

JacquesHammer · 12/09/2018 17:27

Fuck him and fuck his kids, they will turn out the same, I'm sure

What a stupid, stupid post. I’d be totally embarrassed to hold such an opinion let alone share it.

Longweek Flowers It is scary enough looking after someone else’s children when there’s a potential threat. I can’t imagine how difficult it is.

PawneeParksDept · 12/09/2018 18:18

Yes! I remember the way they mocked Chelsea anything from her clothes to her ballet ability

Barron Trump has also had his share of stick.

As if having Donald for a father wasn't enough of a cross to bear.

sleep5 · 12/09/2018 23:29

He has involved his kids in self PR for a long time. I remember reading one interview where Mogg ensured two thirds of it centred around his kid including photos of him dressed like Mogg and his identical opinions. I suspect he's been told to do this by PR people in order to soften his unpleasant image.

Anyway, that's probably why they targeted his kids - I can't recall this sort of thing happening with another politician's kids - purely because the others generally shield their kids from media attention.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 12/09/2018 23:46

The fruitloop was yelling at small kids - hands up who would have told him to fuck off or threaten to punch him if he was yelling at their kids?

He has a history of being mad at everything and everyone.

Bluesmartiesarebest · 12/09/2018 23:55

Op, YANBU

Anyone who threatens or insults children of MPs is absolute scum.

Boodapoo · 13/09/2018 00:18

Comments that condone this shit makes me have even less sympathy for the lefties. Maybe some people do deserve shit lives if they think its ok to attack children.

It is very unreasonable, you don't do that. It is so fundamentally obvious if you know right from wrong - kids are off limits and we treat them with kindness, or at least decency whatever we think of mum and dad.. obviously.

People who think targeting children is ok for any reason are on the path to evil. Must be horrible to have your moral compass spinning like that.

silvercuckoo · 13/09/2018 06:42

Why have the children there at all when they knew there were protestors and these things can turn nasty ?
Right. "But why was the victim wearing such a short skirt, did not she know these things can turn nasty?"

NicoAndTheNiners · 13/09/2018 06:56

Haven’t watched the video and agree that targeting kids is not on.

But it made me giggle when I read that the bloke said to the nanny that she’s got Stockholm syndrome and she turned round to RM and said “have I?”

Grin
LakieLady · 13/09/2018 06:57

Yes it's wrong, but their father has repeatedly supported policies that will make other people's children suffer hardship and poverty simply by being born to the wrong parents, so I'm struggling to find much sympathy tbh.

How odd. Do you have a finite amount?

You cannot pick and choose which children should be safe from abuse based on their parent’s income. That is what you are doing with that statement.

Basically saying his children don’t matter, which is no better than what he does to thousands of children daily.

SoupDragon · 13/09/2018 07:07

Yes it's wrong, but...

So, you’re the sort of person who thinks that actually it’s OK for some children to be verbally abused in the street. That’s what the”but” near the start of your statement means.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/09/2018 07:20

Op you're not being unreasonable anyone who insults children of "MPs" is absolutely scum.

I take it insults are fine then towards children who arent born with a
silver spoon in their mouthsHmm

birdsdestiny · 13/09/2018 07:23

And what do they hope to acheive , not just those shouting at the children but those on here defending it. I am not sure they have even the slightest grasp of politics. Many in here are saying but what about the children who don't have food , housing etc. You do realise you have just increased the likelyhood of JRM becoming PM where he can implement more of the policies you are complaining about.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 13/09/2018 07:25

Mumsnetters have always been foul about people's children when they don't happen to like the parent. Be it the "brat in the playground" or a completely innocent child whose father happens to be a famous twat.

Then they cover their unpleasant arses by saying "yeah but no but my dh's second cousin's neighbour lost his income because of that man"

No, he didn't. He lost his income because of the people who voted for that man's party. Often you find the same MNers will go "wah wah, I'm not going to vote because they're all the same"

It's always been so. Very well-known MNers used to be abhorrent about David Cameron's children (nappygate really brought up the sewer rats on here)

I vote Labour incidentally.

What an amazing example of deduction. Shock

gamerwidow · 13/09/2018 07:29

I abhor JRM and his politics but that’s not his children’s thought. They shouldn’t be intimidated because of his actions. If you think it’s ok you need to have a long hard look at yourself because you’ve crossed a line.

gamerwidow · 13/09/2018 07:30

*fault not thought obvs Hmm
