To target a politician’s children is UNREASONABLE!

Just that. Not a fan of Rees-Mogg but no child should EVER be targeted so horribly anywhere, let alone on their doorstep. I am just so shocked that anyone thinks this is ok.

Ye're really not talking shite, hen.

YeTalkShiteHen · 12/09/2018 13:53

Why thank you Bluelady I’m frequently told the opposite Grin

SoupDragon · 12/09/2018 13:53

The fault lies with the JRM and his wife.

No, the fault lies with whichever wanker targetted a child.

Maliali · 12/09/2018 13:55

Why the hell did he allow his kids to listen to that tirade and not send them all inside? It’s absolutely wrong to target children in this way but JRM for allowing them to listen to that and be obviously confused and upset. Not good parenting.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/09/2018 13:57

The whole video is on Fb.

JRM and his wife brought the children out. After a bit the nanny brought the baby out too. At the end of the video you can hear a child say ‘I don’t want to go in’.

Not one adult acted properly or in the best interests of those kids.

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/09/2018 13:58

Completely unfair to target his children, they have nothing to do with it at all.

I like R-M's comeback to the Mail though, ‘It was a small protest by anarchists which not surprisingly was disorganised, unpunctual and short lived'.

He's quite good at brushing off this kind of thing, I remember that photo of him and his son outside a tattoo parlour that had a sign up about not voting Tory, he captioned it 'we'll take our business elsewhere'!

GabsAlot · 12/09/2018 13:58

hes an absolute prat but its not h8is childresn fault and noone shold subject them to threats

LightDrizzle · 12/09/2018 13:58

YANBU!

UnderHerEye · 12/09/2018 14:00

This! There is no excuse for using a protest to harass and hurl abuse at children, bloody disgraceful behaviour. We are seeing an alarming increase in activists behaving like arseholes and being excused because ‘they are upset’ or ‘passionate’, and it needs to stop, our right to protest should be protected but it’s not a right to be an abusive dickhead.

I am not a Tory but YANBU at all OP

You do not bring Children into arguments at all, much less ones they cannot possibly understand anyway .
Its Low , very low . Ian Bone and his Class War have been around for years , they were most active in the 70s and 80s. Shame on Him.

WhistlerGrey · 12/09/2018 14:03

YANBU - it's a disgusting thing to do. Poor children.

Everanewbie · 12/09/2018 14:04

Thelcon what and evil and disgusting thing to say.

Leesa65 · 12/09/2018 14:04

Well there has been a sustained attack on the children of the poor and disabled, so I suppose it's thought of "why should they live in peace".

I see this point as well but the difference IS (as bloody awful as it is) the children themselves were not shouted at in public etc . I really do not like Rees-Mogg but if Ian Bone has an issue , he has one with Rees-Mogg not Rees-Mogg Juniors.

I despise JRM (and agree he is partly to blame, he should have gotten his children out of that situation/not dragged them into it at all, using them as a shield is how it comes across, hoping to deflect anything negative), however, those protestors shouting at his kids should be thoroughly ashamed.

His kids did not ask to be born, they will have no concept of any harm JRM has caused, to them he is just Dad. They didn't deserve that.

ADastardlyThing · 12/09/2018 14:06

"Well there has been a sustained attack on the children of the poor and disabled, so I suppose it's thought of "why should they live in peace"."

Because they are children and blameless in this? Hmm

Because when you allow your morals to be dragged to the level of the people who are targeting children and disabled people, you become as bad as them.

Xiaoxiong · 12/09/2018 14:07

I can't agree more OP. If you have political disagreements with JRM then your fight is with him. Children are off-limits no matter who their parents are.

Incidentally the potential targeting of families and children is exactly the kind of thing that discourages more women and especially mothers from getting involved with politics, on all sides of the political spectrum.

Thelcon what an awful thing to say. You should be ashamed of yourself.

pollygreen7 · 12/09/2018 14:10

I think JRM is odious but found the video very, very upsetting. No one should talk to a child about their parents like that. Most upsetting was that no-ones instinct clearly kicked in to protect the children and take them inside. They shouldn't have been out there in the first place, the adults seemed to be enjoying it which I found peverse...

Bejazzled · 12/09/2018 14:15

Yadnbu and any decent person would say the same

Those who think that children are legitimate targets for any kind of verbal or or violent protest are the scum of the earth.

Bejazzled · 12/09/2018 14:18

Oh, and I've reported the scummy comment above

SoupDragon · 12/09/2018 14:19

I did too. They’ll have to delete the quotes of it too.

Blinkingblimey · 12/09/2018 14:20

What UnderHerEye said “our right to protest should be protected but it’s not a right to be an abusive dickhead.”
I really worry that the private life instrusion that comes with being a politician is out of hand - these days you either have to be the epitome of thick skinned arrogance or truly truly brave......sadly there a too few of the latter.
