New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

Why should the public be subjected to her mediocre crap just so she can buy a farm? A bit entitled isn’t it? I’d like a farm, but if I had to obtain it by appearing on dreadful shows, churning out sob stories and bullying people, I’d gladly do without.

Oh ffs. She's not subjecting anyone to anything, she was going to do a tour, for which people were free to buy or not buy tickets as they wished. It's not entitled to offer to work to earn something. Do you think a plumber or an electrician is being "entitled" when they offer an out of hours service in the hope of funding a holiday?

I appreciate you don't like the woman but that doesn't mean the act of trying to work to earn money is immoral in itself.

Oh, pah, to add, you can also switch off the TV or not buy the magazines if you don't want to see her. Plenty of people have no idea who she is or what this whole kerfuffle is about.

She's in showbiz, her job is to be seen and to entertain. If you don't want to see her, you don't have to, but she's not being "entitled" to try to do the work she's always done.

What I didn’t understand was why there is support out there for her on the message boards under anonymous IDs but these people didn’t sign the petitions in her favour or buy tour tickets.

So, I looked into some of the posts and tweets. (Not as sad as it sounds as I analyse data for a living, but just not this type usually 😀.) It seems to be not so much in Coleen’s favour after all, more against Kim.

So, you’ll get people saying “Don't worry Coleen, Kim got what she deserved” or “Kim came in fighting of course Coleen was going to stick up for herself” and so on. I even saw one which said something along the lines of having met Kim and she was a horrible rude person to fans and wouldn’t allow photographs, to which someone had replied how odd because here’s the picture you had taken with her and the comment saying how nice she was... some guy had looked back at that person’s Twitter and found that the poster was lying for some reason.

All. Very. Weird!

So, there’s a lot of crap out there that’s blurring the edges. The only thing that we can be sure of is the people who made complaints to Ofcom and signed the petition felt strongly enough to act and there were more of them than supporters.

Probably there is more support on Twitter for CW, because she has an active Twitter account and engages on there, where as KW doesn’t. And maybe the people who have reported to ofcom are letting them deal with it instead of joining the angry mob - the very thing the LW did and which made them complain in the first place. Twitter can’t be the only metrics here, what are the numbers on the petitions? Were they shared as widely?

Roussette I don’t think she’s ever sung in her own. I think that was part of the tour promotional material that she was on her own for the first time.

Correction. Found this on google. She sang on LW. I’m sorry but it’s not very good. I’m putting all my feelings of bullying or whatever aside now (and actually I feel sorry for her predicament, I truly wish she had made better choices) but she’s thin in voice and out of tune in parts, especially towards the end.

It must be horrible to have your dream crushed but, well, if her dream was a farm rather than a tour, she could have found a less risky way of getting there.

Oh blimey. Even allowing for the occasion and emotions of leaving a show, that's really very very average singing. Most leads in a decent amateur musical would wipe the floor with her. The smoking won't have done her voice any good over the years either

I’ve actially watched quite a few Kim Woodburn clips since this started , hadn’t seen her much before. She comes across as a lively, intelligent woman with the common touch. Some earlier posts on the previous thread said they thought she had a mental disorder or dementia - I honestly can’t see that in the slightest.

I can understand why she hasn't sold many tickets. She's unable to sing in tune.

Same here 5YearPlan - she seems to be rather charming. I still wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her* but I think that if she's treated with respect, she responds in kind.

It all comes down to scapegoating. They knew how Kim would react to a panel of people who were not on her side.

JSP's article just sealed it for me regarding how big a set-up against KW the whole thing was and how complicit LW production was in this.

KW was lured onto the show with a promise that CN wanted to "make amends" or clear the air following the BB fall out. But look at the panel
CN - was the show's host with her audience
LN - panellist and sister of CN
JSP - the "judge" - writes about CN as her "good friend"
LR - panellist and wet lettuce - not a person to take on CN publicly

So it was clear that the panel was set up to be pro-CN as it was 3-1 her family and friends - so how could it ever give KW a fair hearing?

@Lunde you are spot on. I think it was all of them against Kim. LN wasn't really on her side even though she was sitting next to her. If Kim had been allowed to bring someone in that would have been slightly different. All I see in the clip is the rest of the panel making negative remarks about Kim. I think Kim handled this well considering the things they were coming out with.

She sounds pretty good in this clip over 10yrs ago. I don't doubt she can sing just that she had no material of her own.

I think that’s the worst one of the three. What’s the accent? She sounds like someone who has sung that song over and over to the point where she has to embellish it to make it less dull to perform.

I think she’s alright in one of the clips but certainly not “solo tour” good. She could do local theatres and very small venues maybe? I reiterate that I am in no way a CN fan but they were never the Jacksons to begin with. For that type of music she’s a fair enough singer.

I remember seeing that, it was awful and she wasn't a patch on Bernice singing that, it was really out of tune and what's with the Worzel Gummidge outfit with the piece of old rope holding her jacket together.

Though to be fair, my voice isn't as loud (luckily for anyone who hears me)

I'd not be surprised if she was miming and had recorded the song in a studio, where they can alter all sorts of things to improve the sound of the performance.
