New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

Production team are very guilty. CN has to take her own responsibility but how did she think it was going to go? JSP in judges robes ffs HmmAngry

I was disappointed in JSP as I thought she was a better person than that. She should have told the production team to fuck off. She used to have better sense than this. Is her career that fucked that she had to go along with it.

annoyedofrichmond · 09/09/2018 07:58

What Coleen “I didn’t say anything” Nolan is missing is that thousands of people, thousands, are saying she was wrong, that what she did was mean and bullying (as opposed to just being angry like Kim) yet she still says she did nothing. There is no self reflection whatsoever.

I have watched the clips of Coleen Nolan that people have posted to forums showing her previous bullying. She’s naturally not a very kind person. She’s sarcastic, mean and smug. The other presenters often step in to smooth over her comments or even try to get her to see what she’s said is not nice. They do it tentatively, maybe because they dont want her to turn on them on live tv, and she rides roughshod over them, ignores them. People laugh at her overused “Just stop it!” that is her signal to end conversations she doesn’t like, but it’s not funny, it’s a warning. She’s rough, she’ll take a verbal swing at you and embarrass you in public.

I’m not surprised that the public swooped when they saw others were circling, it was only a matter of time. And it was only a matter of time before she really damaged somebody with her comments, unfortunately for her it was herself.

annoyedofrichmond · 09/09/2018 08:22

And meant to say, production set Kim up not Coleen. Coleen had everything in her favour - her show, her audience, her sister, her friends, she knew the format... but I think Coleen came on with a preconceived idea of getting Kim worked up to shout at her so she’d get sympathy, headlines and sell your tickets. And after the fact production threw Coleen to the wolves. That’s how much they cared. Not a lot.

But it looks like they’ll get away with it. Why is that? Because Nolan isn’t liked in the business so no one stands up for her? Because there is no “face” for the public to petition and the papers to print photos about?

annoyedofrichmond · 09/09/2018 08:28

tour tickets, not your tickets

birdsdestiny · 09/09/2018 08:31

And people are tuning into LW so they also get an increase in their viewing figures. So it's win win for the programme. If I was one of the other women on the panel I would feel very nervous about the way in which the programme has sacrificed her without a seconds thought.

Everyoneiswinginit · 09/09/2018 08:36

As someone way upthread mentioned. Viewing figures are calculated by a black box that only 5000 households have. So , if you have one and you feel let down, tune out. For everyone else it makes no difference if you watch or not.

Bahhhhhumbug · 09/09/2018 08:36

I used to work with a relative of the Nolan. They really think they are somebody and l got so sick of the sycophanting that went on, almost on a daily basis.
Only one time did one young woman on finding out relationship to Nolans pulled a 'So?' face and bravely declared she wasn't a fan. It was awful to watch she got pounced on and on sticking up for herself got branded a troublemaker.
To me the Nolans are just a bunch of Irish girls who can hold a tune, sit round many kitchen tables there when everyone's dong a turn or any pub there and you will hear better, theyre brought up with it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/09/2018 08:37

The most passive aggressive antagonistic act I’ve ever seen on live TV.

Or anywhere on TV, Housewife - dreadful!

I can’t seem to find a video of the actual incident though. Wonder what happened there

Pickle - I suspect it's been taken down because it shows Coleen and the team as the bullying harridans they are - ITV don't want Kim to be seen as being the victim (which she was).

I wonder if the production team have wanted rid of Coleen and spotted their opportunity when this furore broke out. She doesn't seem to be well liked, but perhaps they were contracted to keep her until hell froze over until she decided to leave.

I doubt they would have gone to the extent of engineering the situation, but once it has arisen, they may have seized their chance. I have never encountered anyone with less support in the industry. It's pretty amazing, actually - everyone seems to be in a clique of some type, but not her. Even her sister is keeping her fat gob shut silence.

Everyoneiswinginit · 09/09/2018 08:38

Bernie could really sing. Remember her on that opera/x factor type show. She could act too. I think she was in Brookside for a while. But the rest, not so much.

Everyoneiswinginit · 09/09/2018 08:40

It is interesting that apart from JSP(who had her own back to cover) no other LW have tweeted support, have they?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/09/2018 08:42

THIS ^

As Humbug says - they weren't special - they got lucky because they were four reasonably nice-looking sisters who sand reasonably tunefully. Without their sisters gimmick, they would never have got anywhere. (What happened to the Cheeky Girls by the way? wanders off thread)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/09/2018 08:42

*sang, not sand

Bahhhhhumbug · 09/09/2018 08:44

and they had much pushier parents than most determined cash in on it.

annoyedofrichmond · 09/09/2018 09:02

And people are tuning into LW so they also get an increase in their viewing figures.

That is temporary I bet. They are tuning in waiting for the apology which isn’t going to happen, the time has passed, and to see another fight, which also won’t happen. So they’ll drift off again and it seems (reading twitter and the forums) that overall they have lost viewers.

Even though they have made no attempt to keep Coleen on the show (and, it would have been show suicide in the short term but they could have done a Coleen Special episode and forced her on viewers) CN still could have saved herself if she had only made a frank apology within a couple of days of the show. She didn’t even have to mean it! But I think that just shows you how angry she is, she wouldn’t swallow her pride to save herself.

5minutes · 09/09/2018 09:41

Anyone else think it poetic justice that CN gossiped for a living on that show but now it’s her being gossiped about she cries about it and does the biggest flounce the industry has seen for ages?

(It’s the flounce she can’t come back from. The show itself could have been salvaged with an apology, the lack of apology could have been salvaged with a soul searching interview admitting she was in the wrong, but once she’d flounced, and I agree with the comments on her twitter page that this was mostly to save face with the lack of ticket sales, she’d cooked her goose.)

Everyoneiswinginit · 09/09/2018 09:52

Thanks South.

I've watched the clip and gringed all the way through. I still don't understand how CN is the one getting the heat. 20 seconds in and KW was going off at LR. That pretty much set the tone of the show. CN was escalating it, but KW was being terrible to everyone and the other Nolan was being very rude.

I do think it is scripted and for the ratings. But I don't think anyone needs to apologise or be fired

annoyedofrichmond · 09/09/2018 10:41

If you are watching the clip and not the full segment (which ITV have now taken down as it shows the bullying in full and makes them look bad) you have not got the full story.

But each to their own. Your own life experience shapes your views. If you have been exposed to sarcasm all your life (in the guise of “I’m only joking, don’t be so sensitive) you may be immune to it and not see how cruel the set up and whispered remarks were.

5minutes · 09/09/2018 10:44

That pretty much set the tone of the show.

That’s where you are wrong in my opinion. The tone of the show was set in a meeting with produced and cast before filming even started.

wolfywolfy · 09/09/2018 10:45

If you were told CN were to speak first and she sat there being intimidating and you were then asked about it wouldn't you say 'well ask CN?'
Wouldn't you be annoyed if you came on to evil music and LT trying to antagonise you by saying 'you are angry aren't you'
I don't understand where people are not seeing the bullying and I don't understand people who are saying it was KW.

5minutes · 09/09/2018 10:46

a meeting with production and cast..

wolfywolfy · 09/09/2018 10:49

I know it's already been spoken about loads but back to JSP's article where she added a video of KW at the end.
Isn't that JSP now underhandedly trying to bully KW by trying to show her in a bad light? To sort of say look I'm right and you're wrong. Why the hell did she need to add that clip ? Not very mature is it !!!

It cracks me up that JSP has written that article about her dear friend CN when I bet CN has had a laugh behind JSP back a few times.

Rezie · 09/09/2018 11:13

Okay so I haven't seen the whole thing. Just the clips available on YouTube (thanks for telling). So I can't comment on the bullying.

I do believe KW knew that there was no reconciliation attempt coming. KW needs this publicity as much as Loose women. She was getting paid to come there. KW and CN have been at this for almost 2 years. They work in different industries (to an extend) so I doubt anyone was there under false pretence. The purpose for all of them was to create conflict. That being said, bullying is wrong and I don't anymore know who bullied who but I wouldn't rule out a script.

IamPickleRick · 09/09/2018 11:26

For me it was the “it was awful what you went through.... US!” comment from CN. Because KW was talking about her past trauma then and how the CBB house had made her feel. I imagine she has some PTSD and did relive some of her past while in the house. CN completely invalidated KW’s feelings and experience, of the house and her past because that’s what KW was referring to at the time of the snide comment.

What a way to belittle someone invited on to your show for you to make amends.

Agreed that at the start, all LR had to say was “I did say that. CN would admit she said that.” When you are wrong, just say sorry. It’s so much better than all this pretending not to know what you did bollox. It probably has gone a bit far now, because CN cannot accept one inch that she may have been horrible. She hasn’t even said that LN was below the belt. And she was, because her only talent is benefit fraud and #frankcarsonsdressingroom
