The British public are always going to stand up for the underdog.
Some people, and I expect the Nolans are amongst them, confuse being the underdog with having a sob story. The Brits prefer a bit more grit than that. Continuing to mention how Shane Ritchie had an affair whilst married to you 18 years after the fact is a sob story. That’s in revenge territory and it doesn’t doesn’t sit well with people, especially as Ritchie himself admits to his drinking and believing his own hype for the marriage breakdown.

The Nolan’s treated Kim’s childhood abuse as a sob story even though she has gritted her teeth and got on with it. They can’t see the difference. When Coleen mentions her divorce she is doing it for effect and she thinks everyone mentioning heartache is doing the same.
On LW if anyone has a tale of woe, she’s there with her own example... “Well I had this..”, “That happened to me...”. No one told her to shut up or that they had heard it all before. They listened politely.
I can't be doing with the self absorbed. It is as if Colleen was furious that Kim had a worse life than her to talk about and wanted to shut her up. As if there was only so much sympathy to go around.
Coleen will now try to capitalise on the “I had to quit because of the bullies” story. She will still be talking about it in 10+ years time, trying to put her spin on it, how it ruined her life. But as Kim said, she’s not the only one to have had a hard life.
