Sex towel

Not really an AIBU but I wanted opinions on this.

A colleague of mine told me that she lays a towel down every time her and her husband have sex. She was pretty disgusted with me when I confessed that I don't undertake in such a practice, so I was wondering; am I doing this wrong?! Is a sex towel a thing??

Yes obv. Please tell us you at lealeast have a penis beaker.

Sparklingbrook · 24/08/2018 18:44

Does she carry it about everywhere in case the mood takes them?

I tend not to discuss my sex life with colleagues.

Hopoindown31 · 24/08/2018 18:45

Finally, the perfect accesory for the penis beaker!

TheQueef · 24/08/2018 18:45

You clearly are not a Douglas Adams fan.

Governoress86 · 24/08/2018 18:45

I was just about to say about the penis beaker but you beat me to it tootruetobegood. Lol 😂

OldGreyBoots · 24/08/2018 18:46

DP and I introduced a sex towel a few months ago, as I was constantly bleeding thanks to hormonal contraception. Without a sex towel we wouldn't have had sex for about 3 months (else ruined a lot of bedding!). That said, we are now back to towel-less sex and I am happier without it Grin

HerondaleDucks · 24/08/2018 18:46

Not for me. It's the quick roll off the bed and to the loo for me.
My friend however does use a towel. I always thought that was a bit weird.

Verbena87 · 24/08/2018 18:47

No towel here; what a faff!

queenworkerbee · 24/08/2018 18:48

I assumed this thread was going to be about the clean-up towel used after sex!
Can't say I've ever laid one down, what does she do about spontaneous throes of passion??

ReggaetonLente · 24/08/2018 18:50

She does this in one of the Judy Bloom books. I think because she’s a virgin? Maybe your colleague is too.

Beyonce also references a sex towel in her song Partition. So there’s that.

TooTrueToBeGood · 24/08/2018 18:50

Not for me. It's the quick roll off the bed and to the loo for me.

I know it's not what you meant but I've now got a mental image of some random naked woman rolling all the way to the loo.

HavelockVetinari · 24/08/2018 18:51

Only if having sex whilst on a period

orphanblack1 · 24/08/2018 18:51

Same, only if whilst on a period

CornishMaid1 · 24/08/2018 18:51

I only do if it's just before or just after AF just in case. The rest of the time we don't bother, although if I've literally just changed the bedding I might consider it.

checkingforballoons · 24/08/2018 18:52

We have a tarpaulin.

mellongoose · 24/08/2018 18:52

Good lord no! More admin than is required whilst in the throes of passion.

What is a penis beaker dare I ask ?!!

Icepinkeskimo · 24/08/2018 18:54

I tend to favour a canoe to go with the flow 😂

WorldCupnovice · 24/08/2018 18:54

Oh my God, I am glad I am not the only one who uses a 'love Towel'!

Bluelady · 24/08/2018 18:55

How to kill the moment.

Somersetlady · 24/08/2018 18:56

You are being very unreasonable discussing your sex life with a colleague.
As far the towel it doesn’t sound very heat of the moment or passionate to me?

fartedthensnapped · 24/08/2018 18:58

How would it stay put in the throw of passion humping like dogs ?

toothtruth · 24/08/2018 18:59

I wrap all my furniture in cling film then cover with dust sheets... pin shower curtains over the curtains... ideally id take them down completely, fold them and put them in the cupboard but sometimes I like to keep things spontaneous and not kill the mood.

TooTrueToBeGood · 24/08/2018 18:59

What is a penis beaker-- dare I ask

RatRolyPoly · 24/08/2018 18:59

Yes for period sex. And we do refer to the towel used for clean-up as a "sex towel" also. E.g. "don't dry your face on that, it was las night's sex towel!".

toothtruth · 24/08/2018 19:00

I also turn all the picture in frames to face the wall
