Sex towel

Not really an AIBU but I wanted opinions on this.

A colleague of mine told me that she lays a towel down every time her and her husband have sex. She was pretty disgusted with me when I confessed that I don't undertake in such a practice, so I was wondering; am I doing this wrong?! Is a sex towel a thing??

Newspaper spread on the sheet is very effective and easy to dispose of (though doesn't go in the recycling bin after use), does leave print on bum and knees though. Sunday Times is the best

Shagging on newspapers is perfectly middle-class as long as it's a quality broadsheet. It just wouldn't do to have tabloid newsprint tattooed on one's post-coital bottom, would it?

TheSassyAssassin · 24/08/2018 20:46

Period sex towel is a given. The rest of the month rubber knickers and wellies are a godsend! Grin

thank you so much for that link , I had not seen that post before , I have only read the 1st 2 pages , im in stitches , saving the rest for when I need a good laugh ,

I have never used a sex towel or penis beaker , i feel a little left out .

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 24/08/2018 20:59

No period sex here either. No towel in our bed, have used the odd one staying over somewhere else.

LifeHackQueens · 24/08/2018 21:00

spontaneous throes of passion??
No, it's a towel she is using, not a throw Grin sorry, I couldn't resist!

Ginkypig · 24/08/2018 21:07

I have a towel but it's only used if we're doing it on the couch, Iv never thought to use it elsewhere.

As for period sex, it's not even a consideration, neither of us care! It's never messy even when Iv had really heavy periods.

Llanali · 24/08/2018 21:21

Mumsnet parallel universe strikes again!

I can’t believe the amount of thought and performance some people here put into this.

Does nobody else just have sex and go to sleep!? All this bed changing, towel laying, tissue stuffing and loo running!

sextowel · 24/08/2018 21:38

I used a sex towel when TTC as I'd be lying with my legs up the wall afterwards

Racecardriver · 24/08/2018 21:42

So what are sheets for then? Surprised to hear that so many people do this. I for one am not remotely disgusted by getting a bit of sperm on the bed, after all, I've just let it get all over me, a drop on the bed is the least of it. Ooooh, maybe she us one of those people that never changes bedding. In that case I am firmly pro sex towel.

Racecardriver · 24/08/2018 21:43

That said we are not period sex people.

Racecardriver · 24/08/2018 21:45

@John I am speechless

toothtruth · 24/08/2018 21:45

why wouldnt you have sex on your period? It doesnt actually get that messy, blood rarely gets anywhere but on the mans penis and even then only a bit. Plus if you are with a long term partner you can forego condoms as its very unlikely (but there is a possibility so wouldnt do it if you couldnt deal with that consequence) that you will get pregnant.
Also personally im more up for it around that time of the month for some reason!

Snappedandfarted2018 · 24/08/2018 21:46

Enough said

Sex towel
NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 24/08/2018 21:48

Yes but the towel is for between my legs as I dash to the loo.

kaytee87 · 24/08/2018 21:50

All this bed changing, towel laying, tissue stuffing and loo runnin

It's good for you to pee after sex, minimises any risk of getting urine infections

Shock Why/How?

Moonflower12 · 24/08/2018 21:53

@PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks

My DP has a 'Stig' filled with shower gel in the bathroom.
My DM always turns him to face the wall when she stays.

Donthugmeimscared · 24/08/2018 21:56

I just used my period as an excuse not to have sex. Then again I've never really liked it as I'm just a bit odd. Couldn't be bothered with getting a towel out and all that.

kaytee87 · 24/08/2018 21:59

@THEsonofaBITCH it washes bacteria away from your urethral opening. I honesty thought that was common knowledge?

John4703 · 24/08/2018 22:01

I managed to find the penis beaker thread IMO it makes this thread look normal

MeandMoo · 24/08/2018 22:07

@BeyondMyThoughts Me too! I haven't stopped laughing! No Penis Beaker or Love Towel for Us! 😂🤣

leighdinglady · 24/08/2018 22:08

What a passion killer. We do the 'after sex reach'. Don't withdraw until you've reached over to grab a stray tshirt, undies or something to put between your legs. Pull out. All spunk caught on said item, chucked in the wash. I assumed everyone did that!

52FestiveRoad · 24/08/2018 22:08

Isn't there a French & Saunders sketch about a spermy sex towel?

MeandMoo · 24/08/2018 22:09

@John4703 Can't stop laughing at your Comment 🤣

Mum2jenny · 24/08/2018 22:16

I use tissues or my dp's underpants, whichever is easiest.
