Sex towel

Not really an AIBU but I wanted opinions on this.

A colleague of mine told me that she lays a towel down every time her and her husband have sex. She was pretty disgusted with me when I confessed that I don't undertake in such a practice, so I was wondering; am I doing this wrong?! Is a sex towel a thing??

Im also amazed about period sex. Never thought to do it Grin
Isn't it really messy though?

OutPinked · 24/08/2018 19:53

I really, really have no desire to know what my colleagues get up to in the bedroom! What an odd thing to discuss...

I have only used a towel during period sex.

Governoress86 · 24/08/2018 19:54

I only change my sheets once a week unless it's really messy, I also tend to shuffle over to my partners side too. Like hell would I be changing sheets in the middle of the night.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 24/08/2018 19:54

My friends must be pure filth then because we always talk about sex.

BeyondMyThoughts · 24/08/2018 19:55

Little bit of topic but I have just be crying with laughter at the penis beaker thread Grin wasn't a member of Mumsnet then but it's made my evening Grin

Also no we don't lay a towel down before, think it would ruin the moment a tad Grin

OutPinked · 24/08/2018 19:56

I remember a friend once telling me she had period sex in her car... she had to find something to clean the mess up with afterwards, all she could find was her cardigan 🤢.

THEsonofaBITCH · 24/08/2018 19:56

that's exactly what I was going to say, wriggle over to their side during, usually without them noticing then they get the wet bit to sleep in!!
Oh we notice - but we're men - we're just glad we got some!! Grin

JayDot500 · 24/08/2018 19:57

I admit, my husband and I find laying in damp patches gross. No towel but we do sort of have tissue and stuff to quickly wipe up.

I personally don't think a towel would kill the moment unless sex must always be unplanned red hot passionate. If one can stop for a condom, why not a sex towel Grin

MysteriousQuinn · 24/08/2018 19:57

Oh and me and my friends love a good sex conversation. It's fun and usually involves lots of cackling laughter.

AlexaAmbidextra · 24/08/2018 20:00

These people that are astonished at period sex or that change the sheet immediately after sex😱. I’ve obviously led a very louche life.

XiCi · 24/08/2018 20:00

This thread is hilarious. My DH would think I had lost my mind if I started blow drying the sheets after sex...ditto changing the sheets after sex in the middle of the night Grin

Frogscotch7 · 24/08/2018 20:03

We use a sex umbrella when I’m on top.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 24/08/2018 20:04

toothtruth in Lush they have the faces of who made the products on the bottles. I turn them to the wall if I'm in the shower, especially the men! 😂

Sparklingbrook · 24/08/2018 20:04

I can sort of understand maybe discussing the minutiae sex with a close friend (although I never have) but a colleague?

MarthasGinYard · 24/08/2018 20:06

Does the towel accompany you to Centre Parcs?

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/08/2018 20:07

Only one to clean up after with then chuck straight in the wash basket.

SteveMcGarrettsBudgieSmugglers · 24/08/2018 20:07

no sex towel or penis beaker here, dont often do it in the bed, so Im now wondering if I should invest in a sex picnic blanket to use when the mood takes us

easterholidays · 24/08/2018 20:09

Re period sex Quinn

Isn't it really messy though?

Almost always not at all, but once in a while (TMI warning) sex seems to bring on a sudden expansive flow, and so over the years I've found a towel stops me worrying about it!

Frogscotch7 · 24/08/2018 20:10

Steve - or maybe a handy packable sex cagoules?

easterholidays · 24/08/2018 20:10

dont often do it in the bed

Come on Budgie, you have to tell us more than that. Kitchen table? Stairs? Grin

FilthyforFirth · 24/08/2018 20:11

I am also agog at the high number of people have period sex! I have never done this, am I in the minority?!

Sex towel is grim. Bit of tissue and a quick jog to the loo for me!

Frogscotch7 · 24/08/2018 20:11

Damn! Microfibre lightweight camping sex towels! Look out for me on Kickstarter.

THEsonofaBITCH · 24/08/2018 20:12

period sex, lots of lubrication and an orgasm stops much of DW's cramps, slightly messy but who cares.

Shartnado · 24/08/2018 20:16

The first time I had period sex with an ex, he laid enough towels down to cover the whole bed. Think he was expecting something akin to arterial spray the second he pulled his dick out Grin

Also me and my colleague discuss every and all details of sex but I'd call her a v close friend who happens to be a colleague now.
